The best time to visit Madikwe for wildlife viewing is during the dry season, which runs from May to September.During these months, the vegetation is sparser, and animals congregate around permanent water sources, making them easier to spot. The daytime temperatures are pleasant, typically ranging from 20-25°C, and the nights are cooler, often dropping to around 5-10°C. This period is particularly good for families looking for a comfortable safari experience as the cooler weather means fewer insects. The wet season, from October to April, also offers a rewarding experience, especially for birdwatchers and those who appreciate lush landscapes. While wildlife viewing can be more challenging due to thicker bush and dispersed water, the scenery is vibrant, and many migratory bird species are present. Temperatures are warmer, often exceeding 30°C, and there's a higher chance of afternoon thunderstorms. This season can also offer better value for money.
