The Good: staff who arranged all excursions, luggage storage, directions, the location ( close to all attractions, restaurants, markets, malls , etc) hot breakfast buffet with eggs, pancakes, sausage and bacon and baked beans- not just a continental breakfast, clean, full well stocked kitchen, great water pressure. The Bad: needs an update- floor boards completely warped from water damage, beds are not comfortable ( super hard and led to back pains for both of us), clean 1980s kitchen with white melamine cabinetry on one side and 1970s brown panelling and curtains with orange borders on the other side, if someone uses up the hot water in your room you have to wait for quite a while before hot water comes out again.

Great short stay apt right in downtown Funchal, you can walk everywhere. Apt is clean with daily maid service. Small kitchen, great for breakfast and lunch prep Staff is very accommodating. It was our second stay and would recommend to friends.

Good for a base to see the city and island from. It has everything you need and is very centrally located but the apartment is a bit dated and bed very hard. All in all, pretty good value for money though.

The location is excellent in central Funchal. The accommodation was a very good size. Staff were very helpful. Our room was at the back of the hotel and was very quiet. We would definitely stay there again if we returned to Madeira.

Great location for us. Centre of Funchal. Close to a supermarket and lots of nice cafes and also to the promenade and public transport. Lovely view from room. Good kitchen but Glad we'd brought tea towel, dish cloth etc. Would stay there again!

Reception staff are excellent. Good downtown location with shops, cafes, etc, short walk to the English Church. Room needs minor maintenance including to stop doors scraping. Bed hard and can feel the springs. Television is ancient CRT but watchable.

Great to visit Funchal
All the staff were super friendly and helpful. The apartment was comfortable and central. It helped us to visit Funchal very comfortably. Great stay. Will return for sure.

Central location
Centrally located beside beautiful park. Staff friendly and helpful. Apartment more than adequate with good cooking facilities should they be needed. No kitchen cloths for mopping up etc or washing up liquid supplied. Generally good value for money.

Good location but odd smell
The hotel is located near one of the main squares and has a nice balcony and a decent kitchen set up. There were a bunch of additional expenses not included in the room rate, such as use of the room vault, parking and a fob deposit. The room was large and the bathroom had a tub, though when showering the water went everywhere. Also little street noise could be heard but noise from the hall was an issue (the doors slammed and people talking echoed). There was also an odd smell in the room for the entirety of our stay (kind of mildewy).

The best location
Brilliant location to walk to marina and old town. Close to lots of restaurants. Ideal for the Aerobus. Room was enormous, on 2 floors. Great facilities, full kitchen, 2 bathrooms. Only complaint was the AC could have been a little cooler.

Just a brief stay. With a kitchen near a supermarket. The kitchen had a dishwasher, meaning all the dishes were clean. This is not true of all aparthotels!

Absolutely perfect place in the center of the city
This property is ideal for those that want to explore the city and attend all the festivals, it is located right in the center of the city just steps from a big shopping center, restaurants and coffee shops etc. The staff is excellent. I strongly recommend this property.

Good: - Very conveniently located in the city center. Walking distance to the Marina and town center. - Quite reasonably priced. - Friendly and helpful staff - Place to store luggage when checking out early - Our apartment was very big and spacious ! Bad: - The rooms were very dark due to the décor. - Due to the layout, there was only one window in the whole place so it felt a bit stuffy. - The cleaning staff would clean our room every day, but not any of the dishes (plates, cups etc). And there wasn't anything to clean it ourselves either, so we had to buy dishwashing stuff in the end and do it ourselves.

The hotel was in good position for the town, restaurants and transport. The room was very clean and breakfast was good. Staff were always very helpful. However our room was dark, with only one window facing a narrow street. Other than That, we had a lovely stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Apartamentos Turisticos Atlantida. Very close to everything. The apartment was very spacious. Separate living room with tv and kitchen at the back of the apt then a separate bedroom area with a huge bed in the middle with very large bathroom as you enter the apt. Well equipped, clean and tidy with daily maid service. Only draw back was the noise you would hear from another room. But overall, found the apt great. Super location. Loved Funchal. Would definitely go back.

Booked this hotel for a weekend break in Madeira, we were not dissapointed the room was clean and comfortable and the staff were polite and very helpful. A week in Madeira
We had bed and breakfast here, the apartments have a kitchenette that was good. The breakfast was ok, self service, ask for cooked scrambled egg, very nice. They seemed to run out of plates and glasses? weird! The apartment was clean and large, it was a bit dark for me, colour scheme was orange and brown, needed to have a light curtain to lighten the room, you have to use a net curtain unless you want the dental and office staff looking in on you from opposite, try to get a high room or rear room to avoid this. The aircon was not effective to start, but was fixed when we asked for it to be looked at. The apartments location is fab, just next to the lush Municipal gardens, a short walk to the front and marina, a short walk to the palace gardens with lovely views. If you want to be in the heart of Funchal then these apartments are great. We used the aerobus from the airport, easy and cheap, the bus stop is very close, use either stop 6 or 7. We did a Levada walk and a jeep safari, both times collected from the apartment reception. A lovely holiday, a beautiful place.

As others have said....Great location,Friendly,helpful staff cant realy fault at all! What may be helpful to others; I booked a double room and received two single beds pushed together,So if its important to you,Emphasize a double bed.

Great location close to Funchal waterfront
Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was very good with fresh cooked eggs to order as well as self serve buffet. The room and bathroom were spacious and modern with living room and kitchenette. A large grocery store is located (2 storeys down) in the nearby shopping centre. We ate in one night after travelling for the past two weeks throughout Portugal.

Very good value for money
Situated very close to the old town, harbour and sea front, so handy for restaurants and bars. Good shopping centre within100 metres. Rooms are spacious, but a little tired and beds are quite hard, but this is made up for by the friendliness of the staff and the good breakfast.

Atlantida Apartments is right in the centre of Funchal, within easy walking distance of everything you need including the large Dolce Vita Shopping Centre. It was excellent value and the staff were friendly and helpful. The only down side was the lack of wifi in the room although there is a wired internet connection for laptops and there is free wifi in the reception area.

It is a comfortable room, but it is noisy.
Only rented the room for it's convenient location but you pay the price for being noisy. Both from guests upstairs and also from the early traffic on the road.

Atlantida Apartments - at the heart of
Great location, close to everything: bars, restaurants, sightseeing places, old town where most of the fun is, amazing room even for a romantic couple. Everybody was jealous of our place. The staff was very helpful and friendly too. The only minus is that you only have cable Internet, not wireless. But who needs Internet when you in the fast run sightseeing hein? Loved the place and definitely recommend it to all!
