Lovely host and breakfast. Room was perfect for a 2 night stay.

It's about 8 miles from Honiton, yet advertised as being in The High Street, Honiton - why not mention the real location?

Lovely old building, beautifully clean and comfortable. Steve and Fiona were very welcoming and kind. Also, they cooked a mean breakfast from a varied menu. It was delicious. The only downside was the lack of parking outside The Bakehouse. It proved to be very difficult but the upside was that approx 60 yards away was a Car Park for only £3.30 for 24 hours! Highly recommend The Bakehouse if you are planning a visit to East Devon.

Beautiful hotel, beautiful location, staff fabulous

Room was well furnished and had everything we needed including a bottle opener, wine glass, even a hot water bottle! Bed was comfy and there was a really useful folder of info in the room, the owner had included a few suggested walks around the property which was great and we did one of them just to stretch our legs. Ample parking, and the property was very well kept, no issues with noise or anything from the farm we were attached to. Loved the fact the owner offered proper milk for the rooms...

We loved the place: it’s a charming, quaint old cottage that’s had a sympathetic B&B conversion and is exceptionally neat, tidy and spotlessly clean. James and Katherine are exceptionally welcoming and helpful, and good fun. Everything in the breakfast room was beautifully presented and laid out with precision, and the hearty breakfast was, of course, exceptional! Everything is home-made or sourced locally. James makes his own bread, preserves and granola. Our room was “bijou” but...

We received a warm and friendly greeting upon arrival and were looked after extremely well for all of our stay. The hotel is spotless throughout and is run by a family who want their visitors to enjoy their stay. Food is excellent and is cooked to order. Delicious! Only slight downside is that as this is a small hotel, there are no lifts thus it is not really suitable for those with mobility issues as all rooms are 'upstairs'. For all other visitors, you will enjoy your visit.

This is a hidden gem. Rooms were well appointed with a really comfortable bed, high quality linens and towels and the white stuff products in bathroom. Breakfast was superb. Staff really friendly and helpful. Location was idyllic.

What a lovely surprise. You never really know until you arrive, but there it was, handy and unmissable there in the station car park. The staff knew my name and greeted me when I arrived. The place has just been refurbished after being derelict and they have done a beautiful job. The train travel theme is great - especially since I stayed there after travelling on the last ever 125 out of Paddington, and it still smells new. My room and bathroom had huge original windows; it make such a change...

We had a comfortable & wonderful stay. The owners & staff were very helpful & polite. The hotel was a peaceful setting with wonderful grounds.

Wonderful period property, all modern conveniences, comfortable beds, luxury bedding, spotlessly clean. Situated just off the high street with secure on site parking, and within walking distance of various eating establishments. Website is easy to use, and informative, covers everything you need to know about the property and local area. Jamie & Gary are fabulous hosts. Highly recommend this establishment.

This was a home from home. We could not have been made to feel more welcome. After a 3.5 day drive from Corfu to walk through the doors of a friendly Great British hostelry was simply the best experience. Spacious accommodation in the Flat, plenty of room to unwind with my two dogs who were a little wound up after the long drive. A good nights sleep and the ability to run off steam in the field opposite, we all left relaxed and chilled. Pub grub was fabulous too! As I couldn’t stay for breakfast...

We really enjoyed our stay at The George,everything was perfect..the room was very comfortable and looked great when we first opened the door.. the staff are friendly and helpful..breakfast was good too lots to choose from ..and the bar staff are very obliging especially Connor..They have a good team there..and every where is spotless,also the Hotel is in a good position…

Have stayed here several times before and hope to again. As ever, everything was flawless - splendid dinner, comfortable room - particularly like the en suite, substantial breakfast and, surpassing all, friendly, obliging service. Surely a benchmark for all those who purport to run a 'country inn'.
