Nice and beautiful hotel, great service.

Posted 20-Jan-2017
Pros: Very beautiful hotel, with a rustic feel to it. We stayed in the suites on 2nd floor in the back of the hotel, beautiful little pond which was quiet.
Cons: Only little problem we had was one of the rooms booked air condition wasn't working. Pinky was very prompt to change our rooms and give us a discount.
Location: Very close to night market and they had free shuttle to/from night market. Go to the morning market - walking distance from the hotel, better prices.
Excellent customer service! As soon as we arrived, Pinky (owner) gave us an overview of Luang Prabang's sights and things to do. I've travel a lot and no other hotel has done this (keep up the great service).Too bad we already had an itinerary, we only stayed for 3 nights and my parents haven't been back to their home country of Laos in over 40+ years. This was a trip back to see their childhood village. Next time we'll be booking this hotel again.

Great owners

Posted 18-Aug-2016
The best part about the hotel is its owner/manager Pinky. He goes out of his way to help, guide you in LP. We did not have hot water any of the days which was hard. We told him on the 3rd day ( as we thought it was the norm because it was hot in August so they perhaps don't have hot water) and he offered to change the room - we got lazy and did not change. The room appeared damp mostly. If I have to do it again i would choose a hotel closer to main town. But Pinky and his mom are great!!

I extended my stay for another 3 days. The hotel staff went above and beyond to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Pong would drive me into the market, about 5 min. I would definitely return there.

A wonderful oasis in Luang Prabang

Posted 18-Feb-2016
We walked into the lobby and were immediately met by possibly the most friendly person we have seen in our travels through Southeast Asia (which is really saying a lot, given how friendly people are everywhere!). After getting a copy of our passports, the manager sat us down and showed us a detailed map of the city with his recommendations for places to go. He also showed us pictures and gave recommendations of the fun touristy things to do around town. One of the warmest people we have ever met, Phone really made our short trip to Laos even more special! In addition to the friendly hospitality, the rest of the hotel was great. Our room was very comfortable, with A/C, a shower, and all of the amenities you would expect from a hotel in Southeast Asia. The (free!) continental breakfast was delicious, with pancakes, french toast, eggs (cooked to order), fresh fruit, juice, milk, cereal, coffee, tea, toast, and of course fried rice. There were many bicycles available to ride, also for free, which was very nice as Luang Prabang is a very bike-friendly city. If you don't want to rent a bike, there are free shuttles that go to and from the night market that leave quite often, and shuttles can also be arranged to go to all of the popular tourist destinations. When we come back to Luang Prabang (which may be very soon), we will definitely book here again!

Nice hotel, caring staff

Posted 17-Feb-2016
Pros: Staff were great
Cons: Heat, renovated facilities
Location: Further from the tourist areas than we thought. Not as much an issue if you want to ride one of the free bikes.
Quaint, maybe rustic hotel. Lovely woodwork gives a wonderful feeling of Loas. The mother and son team that run the hotel are caring and try tobe responsive. Our arrival was during a cold snap, which made our first few days difficult. Since there is no heat in the hotel, even with an extra blanket, we shivered through the night. A shower was a challenge, with low water pressure and limited hot water. Breakfast was served in a covered area outside, again with no heat. During most of the year this probably doesn't matter, but in the cold it was unbearable. The rooms and particularly the bathrooms need updating. Even with these issues we would recommend the hotel, largely because of the staff, but only to those looking for a more rustic setting.

Excellent staff made our stay great

Posted 09-Feb-2016
Pros: It looks old but only 10 years due to the French colonial style
Cons: Nothing
Location: Outside of town but they run a trolley for you both in and out of the centre of Luang Prabang
The manager and staff were excellent and very attentive to anything we wanted

Delightful homely place in luang prabang

Posted 01-Feb-2016 on Hotels
It's 30 minutes walk from the busy part of town but regular shuttle service is provided. The staff is exceptional friendly and helpful. I stayed during one of the coldest day in laos and it can be quite cold even in the room under blanket. room is clean with good shower and hot water though a bit dated. Decent breakfast and free coffee and banana throughout the day but no meals after breakfast. This is homestay sort of place and i enjoyed my stay very much.

Wish I had stayed in a more central location

Posted 30-Dec-2015 on Hotels
I wanted to like this place but it didn't work for me. It is just far enough outside of central Luang Prabang to be inconvenient. There is a free shuttle, but it runs limited hours, and it gets tiresome negotiating tuk tuk rides. There is a restaurant or club nearby that plays loud music at night. I was awakened early by roosters and bright light streaming through the frosted bathroom windows. [The bathroom does not have a door.] Everything is at a slightly different height [entrance to room with toilet, sink area, bathtub]. I thought it would have more of a "country feel" and be quieter. Communication was OK, although staff vary in English language proficiency. I preferred spending time downtown where things are walking distance and would stay in a more central location next time.
