"Great hotel that was cosy and friendly. We travelled as a family with two boys 7 and 14. The staff were extremely friendly and we felt very at home. The main room was a great place to have a drink and play board games by the fire. The room was lovely with big windows overlooking the grounds and really comfortable beds. The breakfast was fantastic and as it was Easter the staff had hidden some eggs in the front garden that my son enjoyed finding, "

"It sounds trite but this is truly a gem of a hotel. Beautiful location, quiet, lovely gardens, very comfortable room and first class service throughout the hotel, from welcome at reception to saying goodbye. Restaurant (Artisan Room) was very good, the staff here so very helpful and lovely with it. Food is fresh, local and well prepared and served. Could not fault it. Good wine list too. It's a beautiful old house and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay."
