"Clean bedroom and bathroom. Public areas not so much. When we arrived late afternoon there were empty beer bottles in the corridor near our bedroom, old, dirty, cutlery outside another, on another floor. Room service plates etc outside another. These were there still the next day at check out. Staff were not overly personable on reception either, no info. given about leisure centre on check in - would have been helpful to know swim school runs on a Saturday morning! On check out when dropping off key, 2 staff, 1 helping customer while the other seemingly ignored me and then tried to help a man that barged past me! It's a shame as this has always been a lovely hotel!"

"Staff excellent in particular Nadine from reception. Unfortunately we stayed during a storm that caused problems in the areas around the hotel. Power cable came down near the entrance to the hotel grounds blocking the entrance. There was a separate entry via the golf club but a tree had gone down on the main road. Nadine did a great job keeping people informed on what was happening around the area and site. We have stayed there many times and the staff are always excellent."

"The house and grounds are beautiful. The breakfast was great they cooked some vegan sausages for me. The room was cold but they had an electric heater which I turned on when I got there and the room was warm when I got out of bed. Bed was comfortable. Shower was hot. The room proved difficult to find when I got there I could have been given better directions."

"The room was lovely and clean, missing a shelf in the bathroom but otherwise in great condition. We found the mattress to be too hard but the room was quiet with a nice view from the window. Breakfast was nice and the dining room wasn't crowded, the only thing missing for us was fried eggs. The hotel is in an excellent location, close to the ships and Gunwharf Quay shops, cheap/free parking was another bonus. We would return to this hotel."
