Great place with top service
Top class service from the team. We had to change the room after the first night as the air con was not functioning properly. The team facilitated the room change immediately, and the following nights’ stay had been wonderful. Great location, close to Chiado station. There is a rooftop restaurant with a great view.

Great hotel, will surely come back
All the staff here had been amazing. They made you feel welcomed. The breakfast was perfect and a wide variety of choices were given. The room was also great and the bed was comfy.

A lovely hotel, right next to the Time Out food market and main train station. Room was large and comfortable, staff were helpful and the breakfast was amazing!

Very happy solo traveler! :)
I really loved my stay here, though it was only for one night. The staff was super friendly and helpful - they even packed me a breakfast box for my early flight the following morning, since I was going to miss the regular breakfast hours. My room was very cute - colorful, spacious with high ceilings, and stocked with beverages. Location was fantastic, too. Right next door to Time Out Market! I'd recommend this place to anyone.

Arriving at the Shiadu you wonder if you have arrived at the right place surrounded by derelict buildings but the actual location could not be better. Right opposite the Time Out Mercado and 5 mins to train station and buses. Perfect. Magda and Carla where fantastic hosts with a superb breakfast and excellent local info. Would thoroughly recommend.

Comfortable stay
We booked an ‘interior’ room not realizing that meant you faced cement walls so choose your room carefully. Other than that, very clean, staff very accommodating. Great breakfast. Good area if only in Lisbon for a couple of days. Next door to Time Out Market, 40+ restaurants inside and next to waterfront.

Great little hotel in a good location
The staff and service was excellent. The rooms are nice and quaint. The bathrooms could be improved. The water pressure and wait time for hot water in particular are quite poor. Something other than a metal clothes hanger would be nice, but obviously isn't necessary. The location is good, but not so close to to the main attractions in Portugal. So long as you don't mind walking a little, or you want to be nearby other less touristy neighborhoods, then it's a great place. The staff are fantastic, as is the included breakfast. I'd stay here again and recommend it to friends, especially for the price.

The warmest and most thoughtful welcome, kept throughout my whole stay. Lovely room, clean and nicely furnished, with beautiful view on the river. Breakfast is very rich & varied. Feels like home and very local.

The location was perfect - right behind Time Out Market, within walking distance of great bars and restaurants, and 2 blocks from public transport. Plus, the staff were all super helpful and had great recommendations. Would highly recommend this hotel.

The guesthouse took extra care in making our stay unique and memorable: dining, tourist recommendations daily and a fabulous breakfast of authentic Portuguese pastries, fruit, cold cuts, crepes - yum!

Great & Affordable Hotel
Great 3-night stay. The room rate was really fair, and we loved that a daily breakfast and wi-fi were included. Terrific customer service - gave us lots of tips and what to do and where to go. The daily breakfast consisted of lots of fresh and diverse fruit, some local pastries, crepes, coffee & tea, fresh squeezed juice and assorted breads & condiments. Also, they have typical American items - cereals & will happily make you eggs. I seriously looked forward to breakfast every day!

The hotel is situated across from a bar which had music and loud noises till at least 4 am in the morning on Thursday evening. While the location is fine and is really close to main attractions like the Mercado Riberia and a short walk to Baixa and Chiado neighborhoods, the hotel itself is situated in a fairly not charming ally. The receptionist was informative and took the time to describe the nearby attractions. If one is not planning on spending much time in their hotel room, this might be a fine option but it is not someplace that felt restful.

Could not have found better!
Our stay in Lisbon was short, only three days, and I regret not having booked a longer stay not only to enjoy the beautiful city of Lisbon but also to stay at this incredible boutique hotel. From the moment I booked my stay, I was sent a personal email saying they awaited our arrival. Once there, we were greeted by the charming and hospitable Sofia. She was so warm and welcoming giving us a tour of breakfast area, guest lounge, as well as a mini-tour of all the city's districts, explaining navigating the city and sights. She offered a number of restaurant ideas which were spot on. She then escorted us to our room. The room was splendid - clean, modern and beds were super comfy. It felt like a home away from home. In the morning, we were met by Jose who greeted us and chatted with us about our itinerary for the day, providing great tips. The breakfast was amazing. They offered homemade cakes, homemade crepes with Nutella and homemade jams (my kids loved the Nutella and I couldn't get enough sampling the 5-6 different jams). An assortment of yummy bread, cereals, fresh fruit, cheese, yogurt, freshly squeezed OJ, delicious coffee and made to order eggs were also available. The location of the hotel is perfect. We were walking distance to trams, trains and buses and also to key areas. Sofia arranged a car hire for us which came directly to the hotel. I would gladly return to Ribeira Tejo any day! I cannot speak highly enough of this place!

Definitely worth the trip
The neighborhood looks a bit shabby but it's safe and the location was perfect; only a couple of blocks from the train station and metro. The hotel staff was totally outstanding - offered suggestions on things to do, where to go, how to get places, and even ordered a special souvenir that my daughter asked me to buy for her and I was unable to find anywhere.

we had such a lovely time. the staff took the time to chat with us at great length about what we might be interested in seeing and the best way to approach certain sights - their information, shortcuts, and advice were supremely helpful. also the room was lovely and much larger than i was used to for european accommodations at that price. the included breakfast was very generous.

This place was awesome! The staff were equally amazing -especially Sophia and John!! All of the staff genuinely wanted to help make our stay at the Ribeiro Tejo and in Lisbon itself excellent. Rooms and overall accommodations were great. Breakfast always had so many options and very filling! The location is a little further from the heart of the city but definitely worth it!
