"Entrance and parking to the LODGE were far less easy than the casino. But the ( Bayview) rooms are excellent. I have memories of this area and was not disappointed. My wife and I were treated to a peach colored sunrise the first morning. Thanks, you made the trip"

"This was a lovely home in a beautiful and peaceful location. We have driven through Omena countless times but have never stayed there until this time. The town has just enough to do without feeling touristy -there is a small public beach area, a cute little general store for the basics, and Knot Just a Bar if you want to eat out at a restaurant. All of those sites are within a 7 minute walk from the house. There was plenty of space for our family of 5 to spread out. The best part was the sunroom that had views of the bay- a great spot to enjoy my morning tea and read a book in the evening. The host was excellent with her communication both before and during the stay. I would definitely recommend this house for anyone who wants to be up in the Leelanau peninsula but prefers to have a quieter location. With that said, it is very easy to get to all of the other great towns in the peninsula."

"I want to say upfront that we really did enjoy our relaxing get-away at this secluded Omena rental. We would rent this property again. This cabin is not like staying at the Ritz. The furniture is a bit worn, but comfortable enough to be comfortable. The beds have nice sheets and comforters. Pillows are really nice. This cabin isn't fancy. But what it is is genuine! There were fans, but no air-conditioning. Some of the nights were a bit hot even with fans. It took me back to my youth. Memories of not having every convenience, but enjoying everything.The beach is very rocky, so a rock lovers dream! Bring your water shoes. The water was a wonderful temperature, as the summer sun has warmed the cold Lake Michigan temps. And the water is clear. In water up to my chest I can still see my feet. It doesn't get better.There is a large deck overlooking the lake. And this rental has its own private beach. You get to enjoy having your own little piece of heaven when you stay here. We appreciated that we could bring our Airedale Terrier with us.The bathroom was clean with a nice shower. Just one bathroom here. My husband worried a little about that, but there was never a problem, if you get my drift. There were 4 of us.I feel like the "property information book" needs to be updated. It warmed my heart to read how the owners grew up spending their summers there and how much they loved it."

"This was a fantastic destination for our extended family vacation! The property exceeded everyone’s expectations in every aspect. Large, comfortable, remarkably well-stocked (kitchen has everything you could possibly need, endless games (and a great game room), SO MANY little kid’s toys and beach toys, all the water equipment)! Layout was great, we could be together or separate as we wanted through the week. We rented a pontoon boat and the dock/mooring allowed us to use it to the max (be CAREFUL coming close to the dock, it gets VERY shallow for any boat. We ended up cutting the engine at the mooring and taking turns walking it in each time, which was easy). Our hosts were super responsive (within minutes every time) and answered our questions every time. Our group (10 of us, 6 adults and 4 kids 2-12) all had a fantastic week. It is not cheap but we all knew we got an exceptional experience! The house, the deck, the fire pit, the beach, swimming off the dock, playing ball in the front yard, watching the stars long into the night - lots of great memories made here. (And great ice cream minutes away in Suttons Bay!)"
