The room itself was good ... very clean and updated. The problem we had was families and people running up and down the hall screaming the first night ... then we listened to a physical conflict about 1 am the following night. If there were staff there in after midnight they did not intervene either night.

The guy at the front desk was really nice and friendly. We arrived at 9pm or just shortly after (no later than 9:15pm. Our confirmation email stated "Check in is between 3pm and 10pm" but we almost missed check in as they were about to lock the doors when we arrived. We got up to our room and it wasn't clean. We found a clump of hair wrapped around the chair leg, the sheets were stained lightly in spots, the towels left for us were slightly stained/yellow, and generally wasn't clean/dusted. Most likely would not return

Our room was very clean and overall was a good experience to stay at Amber Hotel. The property is located in walking distance to Main Street and the beach resort with ample parking space for guests driving to this place. Room for improvement: You would hardly see any staff present - only one bored person at the front desk who checked us in and disappeared later through the day and was never back and so the day after when we were checking out around 10:30am. There is no elevator at this hotel. The public areas / amenity space are not well maintained: everwhere was dust, public sitting area carpet was dirty with spider webs behind the chairs and the staircase was covered in dried mud and stains. All this could be simply improved by doing a simple one-hour cleaning through the day! The room [windows] backed to a wooded land and was very peaceful at night time before noisy nextdoor guests came in. The walls are quite thin and you can hear the loud guests easily nextdoor. There were construction debris left all along the backlane behind the building which made it unsightly to look down.
