Keep in mind this is a rating for Ryokan. Room: The description shows shared baths, but our room had a toilet and sink. The showers are shared and are located with the bath (onsens) and there are 2 for 5 rooms. There is no hot water in the room sinks. We were there during winter and the toilet/sink area and the sitting areas get too cold. The mini-split can't keep up with keeping the room warm unless you close off those rooms. The futons are very thin so if you have a bad back, you will not sleep well. They also enter your room to set up the futons during dinner so keep in mind, this level of service is common and normal I would presume. Meals: I wouldn't recommend staying at a Ryokan unless you did the half board. The meals are amazing. A lot you will not like, but its traditional Japanese. The service during dinner was the best we've had. Conclusion - the meal and service at this hotel greatly overshadows the rooms, which to be honest should not be compared to a 4 star hotel. Great experience for 1 night."
