It was not wheelchair accessible very disappointed but staff did call to another motel for accommodation us made redavaction for us all was ready when we got to new location

The hotel was great, very clean. Michael (Mike) who was there on check in and check out was very pleasant and friendly. He was fantastic. The grab and go breakfast had many choices. We were there during a snow fall, so the TV dish went out for awhile (2-3 hours), but Dish was called and they took care of it. The bed could use some updating, it wasn't very comfortable. Overall it was a great stay.

Hallway smelled bad. Property appears well maintained, staff polite and accommodating. Facilities old and worn. Main thing was the overpowering smell in the hallways.

Thank you for sharing that with us. I am having our hallways shampooed. We had a asphalt construction crew staying with us during your stay and I also noticed an odor within the hallways. I apologize for this and will be more aware of these things moving forward.

Thank you for your feedback. We strive to make sure every guest has a pleasant stay. If you could tell me why parking was lower than most guest give, it could be helpful. Parking in front of your door without steps or having to walk through the lobby is normally a very positive feature. It is also helpful if you can tell us what we can do to make your room more comfortable will help us to improve our service further.

I like the "old school" parking just outside the room. Its not fancy, but room is clean. Good price. Staff is helpful and friendly. Jason very personable. Shower didn't work properly, and trains can be noisy.

Our room was ultra clean even though it was definitely dated. Bed was firm. Breakfast nothing to write home about. If your looking for a good place to rest your head with no frills, this is it.

Last choice.
Only stayed here because other motels were not available for all 3 nights we requested. Air conditioner did not work correctly. Was quiet - not many motel guests. No continental breakfast. Old motel. Travelocity did not ask if we had any discounts.

Was excited to find a non smoking hotel. Front desk was rude and not helpful. Rooms are outdated and smells of smoke. Could not get ride of the smell. I'm allergic to smoke.

Better experience than our last stay......
......a different room (#21) seemed to make a difference. Overall facility and room condition improved somewhat since our last visit a month ago. Parking lot was not as littered. Still an overpowering room odor, which was nearly eliminated by keeping windows and doors open and AC on most of our 2 day stay. Room was clean and sufficiently equipped, but holes in carpeting, soiled drapes, and ill-fitting window covering hardware spoiled the total effect of a spacious, quiet bedroom.

Keycard to assigned room did not work. We were assigned another room, which obviously not been cleaned recently or thoroughly (dirty carpet and windows, dead insects). We will need to stay at this facility another 2 nites this coming weekend, out of necessity. I will be bringing cleaning tools and products to use, prior to settling in. Outside appears littered and unkempt.

Comfortable, quiet hotel
El Rancho is just outside downtown Ladysmith. It is quiet, comfortable, affordable and the staff were very accommodating.

Good but could have been better.
The room wasn't completely clean. There were some peanuts on the floor, hairs on and around sink, chairs were dusty around edges. Also WiFi wasn't good.

Do you get what you pay for?
It's really just a lay your head down cheap hotel. It has a funky kitty-litter smell and there were a lot of flies and bugs. There was nobody around in the morning, and the "Breakfast" was just some hostess snacks and granola bars. I guess the best thing you could say is that it's probably not the worst hotel you've ever stayed at.

Poor value for the dollar.
Things were decent, at best. They only had about a 20% occupancy on a Saturday! The reason is they were priced way too high for what was provided. The 'continental breakfast' was a case in point. More of a joke than a breakfast. I have stayed at about 15-20 hotels in the last year or so and this one was dead last in terms of value.

Smells like grandma's basement.
It smelled very musty , to the point we left the window open all night and it still stunk. It was dusty , but I have seen dirtier places . The smell was the main problem , I recommend taking a good candle with you . Might help.

Pretty much expected for the area. Service was good and the clerk was very friendly and helpful. The bed was clean, the big screen TV appreciated, as were the working micro wave and refrigerator. The carpets could use closer vacuuming attention as an old Q-Tip was on the floor and the bathroom floor needed closer cleaning. Also, colored towels and wash cloths (deep purple) gave me an "uneasy" feeling as I wondered how they were sanitized as apparently no bleach could be used. Had the floors been cleaner I could have given this a higher "ROOM COMFORT" rating. The breakfast was fair(continental). Oh yes, there's a train track across the road from the motel and train whistles were heard almost every hour.

10 to 20 years overdue for a makeover!
Not for the faint of heart, this property is a dump! Stained carpeting, pervasive odor, needs paint, wallpaper, etc, etc.
