Find hotels in La Thuile from £57

The best time to go to La Thuile depends on whether you're seeking a winter sports holiday or a summer mountain escape.

For skiing and snowboarding, the prime season runs from mid-December to late April. During this period, the resort benefits from reliable snow conditions and all lifts and facilities are fully operational. January and February offer the best chance of fresh powder, while March and April provide longer daylight hours and often sunnier skies, superb for enjoying the extensive Espace San Bernardo ski area that connects La Thuile with La Rosière in France. This time is ideal for families and avid skiers looking for an extensive winter sports experience.

If you prefer hiking, mountain biking, and enjoying the Alpine scenery without snow, the best time to visit is from late June to early September. The weather is generally warm and sunny, and the mountain trails are clear. This period is excellent for families and outdoor enthusiasts who wish to explore the numerous walking and cycling routes, including those around the stunning Rutor waterfalls or along the Little Saint Bernard Pass. Many of the ski lifts operate during the summer for easier access to higher altitudes.
