"Having originally come from Stevenage it was nostalgic for me to stay at the Cromwell,as when I was younger it was considered a posh place to stay considering all the history it was also one of the first places I had an alcoholic drink when I was of legal age ,so it was a a full circle event for me .would recommend this place to anyone wanting a comfortable stay at a fantastic location you won’t regret it."

"The staff are very friendly everytime i go her with my partner. I did want a specific room but it was already occupied but the guy upgraded us to a four poster bed which was considerably nice of him and lovely gesture. The only TERRIBLY NEGATIVE thing i have to say is checkout is at 11am and there is a lady that goes around knocking on the doors profusely with a bad attitude between 30 mins before checkout reminding you how many mins youve got untill you have to leave the PREMISES! "Greeting was okay, I asked for my invoice to be emailed to me and at time of writing (over 24 hours after arrival) still not received. I was in room 3 on ground floor, bed was comfortable, desk to work at in room and en-suite was okay. Window in en-suite was open but too high up to be closed. In morning when I got in shower there was no hot water from shower. The sink had hot water. When I told staff on leaving about the lack of hot water from shower, he did not seem that interested or bothered....

"Did a late booking for a business trip. Great service by staff who contacted me and explained the self check in process as I arrived in the late evening. Accommodated a late change I made and were very helpful. Beautifully renovated property with lots of parking, spacious room with good amenities and comfy bed and bedding. "I booked a non smoking room but someone had very clearly smoked in the room recently. Reception were very good and moved me straight away, but into an accessible room, which was fine. I had booked breakfast and at the time of booking had asked for a vegan option but when I arrived, it was a breakfast bag with only dairy options. I cancelled and managed to get a refund."
