"I was advised by staff at the Cottonwood Boutique Hotel that their sister hotel, the Ocean View Hotel was closed due to maintenance. So I can not give you feedback for that stay. However, I was given a room at the Cottonwood Boutique Hotel instead. Normally when I stay at the Cottonwood Hotel it is for a break and I always book the ocean view room. "Large comfortable room, decent bed. Nice white fluffy towels. Room serviced whilst we were out. Fridge in room with a couple of water bottles on first day, no further water when room serviced. Fridge is v convenient especially in summer hot weather. Dog bed, water bowl & poo bag delivered to room before we arrived but we didn’t need as we had own supplies. I think the pet charge is steeper than other places we have stayed at £25 pn but guess that’s for extra cleaning. Would hv preferred walk in shower due to mobility as side of bath a bit high at our age. Nearby parking was v convenient & paid for with our room bill tied to our car reg. Wasn’t offered help with bags on arrival despite obvious difficulties. Was pointed in direction of luggage trolley where I only had one hand free to use. Checking out was a straightforward easy procedure. Hotel is a short walk to beach but as we had our dog with us we drove instead about 15 mins to Hengistbury Head which is very dog friendly in summer months with lovely beach access to the sea & a nearby cafe."

"Full marks to all the staff from moment we arrived until moment we left. Maybe when finance allows they will instal air con in bedrooms. Disappointed we couldn’t have any meals in restaurant as we noticed the AA rosettes in the dining room. Speaking to a member of staff they suggested a European theme restaurant may be opening. Very quiet lounge at night time and we had the place to ourselves despite the hotel being full, maybe some form of entertainment could be tried. Great location for promenade and bus service."

"Nice Hotel - just away from the main centre of Bournemouth - 15 minute walk to the pier. Had a nice room with a very comfortable bed and very good en-suite shower. The room was not in the main building but one of the satellite buildings behind it. Would definitely recommend and would return to - when looking for budget friendly acommadation in Bournemouth."
