Stone trough hotel

"Booked a night at The Stone Trough for our Wedding Anniversary. It was a little overwhelming. I wanted to give it 3.5 but there wasn't an option and 3 is too low. The main shared areas of the hotel are pleasant and our evening meal was delicious with fantastic staff. However our room was tired, with wall paper coming away from the ceiling. There were some cobwebs, a small recent stain on the bed throw and dusty skirting boards. Just little things that a should be noticed and kept on top of by cleaning staff. The bathroom was clean but the shower kept oscillating between scalding hot and freezing cold, a maintenance issue. Also,my mistake but the photos make the hotel look as if it's in a small village on a quiet road, but in fact, it's on a main road and not in a quaint village. I think the motorhome stopover is a brilliant feature and worth every penny. There are nice gardens and places to sit out the back. It was fine for one night but glad we didn't pay for two."

"Good old railway hotel very close to the town centre. Rooms are clean and functional but there is no aircon in th erooms, parking is somewhat haphazard, and if there is an event at the hotel, which is popular for weddings- then space may be limited."

"We had a restful night an amazing sleep Breakfast was lovely and I was helped with the coffee m/c, and our plates was removed with a smile very friendly staff we did not have to sit with the plates in front of us for long that I liked, . a lovely experience we will return ."

"For a number of years we have used the Crow Wood hotel & it has always maintained the excellent standard of pleasant staff, cleanliness & upkeep of facilities. Dining in any of the three restaurants is worthwhile."
Astley Bank Hotel

"The room was lovely on first impressions, not dingy or dusty just a few minor things - the shower was broken so you had to hold the shower head yourself, and there were black marks & what looked like chewing gum? stuck to the bedsheet under the pillow."
The Skipton Hotel

"Room was clean though it had a slight smell. Parking was rough. They had a big lot but there was not room for parking our rental so we had to wait for someone to leave when we parked. It was perfect for our needs I would stay again."
