"Everything about the accommodation was excellent, especially the staff! Despite the communication struggles, they were very helpful and provided great service during my stay. The free shuttle service to the ski resort was also extremely useful as they would drive you to your desired resort and pick you up at your specified time.

"It’s hard to say what the most important thing is for a hotel stay. Is it 1) the property and room, 2) the food or 3) the staff? Well, it doesn’t matter with this property cause you’re winning on all 3. Quiet location at the end of summer/beginning of autumn, room size was good, room was clean, bed was fairly comfortable, bedding was great (the best pillows of the 8 hotels I’ve stayed in Japan). "The oldest Western-style hotel in Japan. Beautiful elegant building and old world charm - a welcome change from the ultra modern hotels prevalent in Japan. Would thoroughly recommend."
"A truly perfect stay at the Fairfield. You cannot fault this hotel and service, the reception staff were so friendly and go out of their way to help or provide advice. Location is about 5 mins drive out of Nikkō, so too far to walk from train station if you are considering. Room was modern and very comfortable, great a/c which is important in this hot summer climate. There are some food options available for sale at the hotel and a small kitchen area to heat food as well as a complimentary tea and coffee machine. Good self serve laundry area too. Ample free parking is available if you are hiring a car. Nikkō and the surrounding area are truly beautiful, we absolutely loved it and highly recommend this hotel as a great option."

"I have truly enjoyed my time at this hotel because it also had personal Onsens and public Onsens on site. I really enjoyed my Ryukan traditional Japanese room with a large amount of great amenities and I want to come to this place every time I come to Japan though I must let you know if you’re staying in Tokyo it takes about almost 3 hours outside of Tokyo, which you can catch the trains to get to. This place is located in the mountains in Japan and it is very well worth it if you’re looking to relax and to be just Lord by the beautiful site that you will see and experience the custom of traditional Japanese people then you would definitely like to stay here because it was amazing."
"Restaurant and housekeeping services were exceptional. Hotel is well maintained and the front desk check in process was quick and friendly. Room peaceful and quiet with great views of mountain side and lake. Recommend 4th floor if possible. 403 was a great room and lots of amenities (e.g., cups, tea pot, robes, phone plugs, etc.). Osen. bath 1st floor was very clean too. Bikes available. Parking for rental cars. Small gift shop and vending machines with food options. Must get breakfast and dinner option.
