I stay at a lot of hotels, Lincoln Park, Downtown C, Michigan Ave. I have seen good & bad.
This place was a surprise for the location. Not everything perfect, but the most part new and well kept.
Staff attended more than I expected. It had a clock with the wrong time. Plenty of convenient outlights & lights. Fairly standard cable (a lot of places have sub-standard).
It's actually not a bad location if you have a car.
Public transportation was there, but seriously even the locals are confused by the system. It worked for me.
I found the staff very friendly but unintrusive.
I didn't try the breakfast so no comments there. Go north a bit and Crown Center has barbeque, Mexican, Argentinan, Indian and a great American deli with generous selection and shocking prices (in a good way.)
It's also easy to order delivery, I did so twice.
For a lower priced hotel, it's not a bad deal.
Elevator broken 3rd floor, The lobby was dirty. The room: dirty carpet, sticky bathroom floor. Cockroach came out of the wall socket No way to make coffee because the tray to hold coffee pod was missing. The bed was nice. The breakfast is why I gave it two stars because the breakfast was good. The rest of it, wasn't worth the gross factor.
Check in person was awesome. The entire property stunk. The elevator was rickety and would not go to the 3rd floor. There was a gap at the bottom of the room door that a small animal could get under. Beds were harsh. Again, everything smelled. Needs a bulldozer.

The exit doors were inconvenient, you had to enter and exit through the main entrance. The hotel was generic, looks like a landlord special flip. However it was clean and parking was included.
The property’s location is nice for access to mid-downtown dining, etc but the area surrounding it is shabby. Generally, it’s in serious need of renovation. It was “ok” for 1 night, but I wouldn’t prefer it for longer. The bathroom had been upgraded. The breakfast was ok.
The stay was uncomfortable. Half of the lights didn’t work, the elevator was slow, the towels and blankets were stained or dirty. The best part about the stay was the breakfast.
Pros: Kind staff, good hot breakfast, clean room, quiet room, comfrotable bed, good TV channel selection, strong air conditioning, very cold refrigerator. Will stay again in the future.
Cons: Very low shower water pressure on third floor but good sink water pressure in the same room, smelly heater, almost zero Wi-Fi upload speed but solid download speed, poor T-Mobile cellular data in the room as a backup due to surrounding buildings, very tight and awkward parking lot to enter and exit but understandable for this part of town.
Decent breakfast. Good parking. Room a little smaller than recent stays at Comfort Inns. No chair except office chair. Small bench but not comfortable for lounging on. Tiny bathroom but but good shower pressure. Propert, breakfast room, room were all very clean.
While my room was clean and the temperature control worked, the shower was scalding hot and difficult to manage. Also, there's an ant problem. Props to the staff, however, who were pleasant and efficient.

We booked last minute, and the area was fine. 5 minutes drive from downtown, didn't feel unsafe parking there, even if the parking lot is in desperate need of repair. The outside of the building is the same as any Comfort Inn, and the inside looked fine from the start. Elevator is old but functional, and the hallways were nothing exciting. The room was great -- comfortable bed, clean bathroom and carpet, refrigerator, microwave, TV. Free breakfast in the morning included waffles, cereal, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, fruit, pastries. Would stay here again, especially considering the price saved by avoiding the downtown area. The front desk staff was incredibly friendly in check-in and check-out.
