We thoroughly enjoyed the stay here. We loved the location in the Jewish Quarter that was so close to everything. Breakfast was excellent as well. I would recommend to any of my friends and family that plan on staying.
"Superb location in heart of Prague's main sights"
The Golden Prague Residence is situated in the Josef quarter right next to Intercontinental Hotel (you actually check in with the hotel). Travelled as a family - the basic kichenette facilities are a god send for the times you are peckish but don't want to go out for a full meal. Stayed in superior suite with a double bed and sofabed (bit squeeky) which is suitable for a child or teenager. Did not get a chance to try Intercontinental Hotel's swimming pool which was included. Has aircon which is essential in the 35C heat of August.
we had a wonderful 3 night stay in this 5 star hotel. the hotel was ideally located and within walking distance to all of the attractions including the old town square, the cathedral district, the charles bridge. and especially the jewish quarters. the staff was friendly and very helpful. the rooms were well appointed and the beds were very comfortable. the hotel was bustling in the lobby area but the floors were very quiet and the rooms were very soundproof.
We met some simple problems, but staff solved them unprofessional or did not solve at all. When outside temperature was about 86 they put us in a room with broken air conditioner, told they are booked and repair can be done in a couple of days. Finally we got into other room with conditioner (works bad), but sliding doors were blocked. We could not use shelves and room safe. They tried to fix them twice with no success. To be short they are very nice and try to be excellent, but acting unprofessional. Nevertheless being sure they can be better I recommend the Hotel to my friend.
Prague’s Jewish quarter witnessed oppression and suffering for centuries before the Nazis invaded during the Second World War. The tightly packed, insanitary buildings of the ghetto were mostly destroyed in the 1890s, but the Old Jewish Cemetery and several atmospheric synagogues survived. Best is the Old-New Synagogue, dating from around 1270.
