We had made a decision to arrive 3 days early to Madeira and when we arrived, our driver (booked by the hotel) was waiting at the airport, check in was seamless and we were able to upgrade our first 2 nights in order to stay in our room for the full 5 nights. Location was perfect, lots of dining/entertainment options within steps. And downtown Funchal is about a 40 min walk but well worth it. We used Uber as well a few times. Nadia went above and beyond - we were on our way out to dinner on Saturday evening and asked about renting a car the next day and when we got back, everything was arranged for us for the next morning. The breakfast buffet was great, usually busiest between 915-945 but they were still adding fresh and hot items each day just before 10am. Many options! The rooftop bar was fabulous for a sunset cocktail - bartender was awesome! The pool area is lovely but it was too windy/chilly for us to use it. We also didn't take advantage of the spa. Top notch service and comfortable beds!"
