Hillside Hotel Guide - Family Friendly Hotels in Hillside, Chicago

This hotel is a beautiful 'old lady' who is sadly in need of a lot of renovation. Our room was clean, and very comfortable, but the ambiance leaned toward faded and in need of freshening.

It was affordable and convenient but a little outdated.

This hotel may look a bit outdated but it provides excellent service, a nice suite space, is clean and handy to walk around downtown/river park area. Price is reasonable for a downtown area.

Rooms are on the small side, but well appointed. Staff helpful. Most nearby restaurants are chains - not "special" dining

I had no problems with my trip, hotel was clean, staff was nice, bed was very comfortable, showers were nice and the location was excellent. My only complaint is that I was expecting "excellent views" and actually upgraded rooms to get a better view but could only see the Sheraton across the street.

Had a conference nearby and decided to save a few $ but still be in the heart of downtown and close to the hotel of the conference. Check-in was fine and staff were friendly. Elevators (only 2) were cramped and slow but fit in with the old style feel of the hotel. Checked into my "club room" and was surprised by the size of the room. Amenities (Keurig w/ K-cups, Flat Screen LCD TV, Comfortable Queen Bed) were nice. Towels are beyond used and past their expiration dates so this was a little disheartening and the iron and ironing board are in the hallway closet to be shared by the entire floor. All in all, I would stay here again, but would try and upgrade to a larger room next time as the "club rooms" are not much bigger than a walk-in closet.
