First, Ken is an accommodating and communicative host! He made sure we knew about all the local attractions and restaurants, and that he would be available should we need anything. Thanks, Ken!!
Second, the house was perfect for our needs. It's in a great location and is a good size. There were four of us staying from Thurs-Tues and we had plenty of room to spread out and have our own space. The beds were very comfortable (normally I find it challenging to sleep anywhere except in my own bed), there was plenty of bedding, and the rooms were quiet (with the addition of a fan). I usually sleep with a fan and brought my own, and we found an extra in a closet. If there are more in your party who need fans just know you may need to bring/ask for more.
Other things that are helpful to know: There are 8-9 deck chairs (no need to bring your own camp chairs), a wood fire pit outdoors and an electric fireplace indoors, a gas grill, plenty of dishes, silverware, mugs, seasonings, condiments, shampoo, conditioner, laundry detergent, etc. The only thing we could not find was a hairdryer, it could be hiding somewhere, but no matter, we all just air-dried our hair.
There's a coffee shop a few doors down with delicious coffee, the Mickelson trail is right out the door, and Custer and Keystone are both about 20 minutes away.
We didn't notice the train whistle in the early morning at all, and the times we did hear it it was a lovely soft "toot toot" old West whistle. I was initially worried about this since I'm somewhat of a light sleeper. Overall, great stay, can't say enough good things!
