Stayed a year ago and re-booked for this year. Just one night stay, but the service is excellent, and we would like to have a longer stay next time. Our host is very helpful, and the breakfast is just what you need. Our room was comfortable, and the bed is lovely. Might bring the dogs next time to enjoy the countryside.

This hotel is perfectly situated for accessing the beautiful Brecon Beacons. It is a well appointed hotel and has its own Spa. The food is excellent and plentiful, the staff are welcoming and friendly. It has a large open air car park and parking is free. If you are not staying at the hotel but want to go somewhere that provides an excellent meal you should try the bar or restaurant. From the hotel there is easy access South to Cardiff and northwards towards Mid Wales and The Midlands. I...

We booked for 3 nights B and B from 28th May. The location was easy to find and we had a choice of two rooms. Both were large double bedrooms with duel aspect views over the local area. We choose the one with the views over the front of the building and the hills beyond. Our hosts were very welcoming and gave us tea and biscuits on arrival. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Our room was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. The later had a stand alone bath with taps and shower head on a...

Clean, well presented, friendly helpful staff and a decent breakfast! Couldn't ask for any more, was a great place to stay. We only stayed one night but would be happy to return and stay longer!
Highly recommended

We stayed for only one night in August 2016 as a stopgap to the north of wales. But enjoyed our stay there tremendously. Mainly due to our hostess Rose, hospitality which added to all Altybrain has to offer in its beautiful, serene and tranquil surroundings.

We had a fantastic stay at the butchers arms.
They were very friendly and helpful. We had a problem with another hotel and Andrew and his team couldn’t do enough for us. What a lovely place to stay.
Very clean place. Bed was super comfy had a fantastic nights sleep.
We will definitely stay again if in the area. Thank you Andrew and all the team for looking after us. 😊😊

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly especially when I couldn't open the key cabinet. Dinner was quite excellent and reasonably priced. Room was larger than expected but TV reception was patchy and screen kept freezing perhaps due to poor Wi-Fi reception. One thing to remember, they do not have allocated parking - whilst there is a large car park behind it is £2 for 2 hours and £6 for a day but keep in mind the gates are shut from10pm to 8am which is unhelpful when you need to leave...

Really lovely stay for 3 nights. Gorgeous room and bathroom, great friendly staff and good food. Very good value. Train station right across the road. Would definitely stay again.

We had a lovely stay. The cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. And was in a fab location for what we needed.

The best time to go to Heol Senni is during the late spring and summer months, from May to September, when the weather is generally mildest and the days are longest.
During these months, you'll find the conditions most pleasant for exploring the Brecon Beacons National Park, where Heol Senni is located. May and June offer beautiful wildflowers and fewer crowds than the peak summer months. July and August provide the warmest temperatures, ideal for hiking, cycling, and enjoying the outdoor activities the area is known for.
Couples looking for a romantic getaway will appreciate the long daylight hours for scenic drives and evening strolls, perhaps enjoying a sunset over the Black Mountains. The clear night skies during these months also make it an excellent time for stargazing, as the Brecon Beacons is an International Dark Sky Reserve.
Families with children will find the summer holidays particularly suitable, as the warmer weather allows for comfortable exploration of waterfalls, caves, and open spaces. Many local attractions and outdoor activity centres are fully operational, offering a wide range of experiences.
