Madison Mountain Retreat is exactly what it says. A retreat in the Mountains, away from pesky 'real world' interferences of internet, email, phone calls, texts etc. Blissfully peaceful, rustic, but lovely cabins, lively alpacas, glorious birdsong, beautiful surrounds. The staff are lovely and friendly, and will supply basic foodstuffs (bread, milk, cheese, bacon) on requests, as well as eggs daily from their free range hens. Excellent staff could not be more helpful

We spent one night here on our way to the Wolgan Valley. It is in a great location right on the Escarpment and a five minute walk to Echo Point. The rooms are a little dated but comfortable. There is no evening turn down service nor any complimentary bottled water in the room, rather surprising for a 4/5 star rated hotel. We had a wonderful Asian meal in Miss Lilian’s Tea Room restaurant. The service and staff there were fabulous. Breakfast was good with all the usual fruits, cereals, juices...

The remoteness is not in anyway a comment on the great hospitality experienced front the entire Mercure staff. This was my home away from home for almost 4weeks and I greatly enjoyed my stay. The room was a key reason for selecting; the hotel over a closer I is offering; very spacious with a huge wardrobe, big bathroom and walk in shower. Hotel was very good staff friendly and helpful. Rooms were really good, very big and nice big bathroom. Breakfast delivered to your room if you want it. food was lovely. Had a pool which was an added bonus. Places to eat just down the road, we went in car but you can walk along the back road
