It is getting worn out. You have to battle the lift to get on it, the floors and stairs creak ominously. We booked dinner reservations for their lovely dining room but they were not necessary-only 6 other people were seated/eating while we were there. The location may have something to do with this. It is my understanding that Katoomba was once a lovely town, but it also has seen better days. Many of the businesses around are run down, but the scenery is wonderful! Get tickets for the hop on hop off bus at the hotel desk.
