The Belsfield Hotel

"All excellent ! Only disapointment on this visit was checking in , there was only one person on reception and it was about 15.10 pm when I had to wait about 25 minutes to check in because there was a group of tourists checking in together. At that time of day there should have been more than one person on reception !"
Abbey House Hotel

"This hotel holds memories for us so it was nice to return for a special occasion 6 years after our first visit. We booked a suite which was in one of the turrets at the back of the building and had lovely views over the garden from the huge wrap-around windows. The on-site restaurant, Oliver's, is really nice and the food is delicious! It's very reasonably priced too for the quality you get and have a great cocktail and wine list. It's a really nice atmosphere whether you're sat in the bar, restaurant or orangery area and the staff are friendly and attentive, but not constantly hovering so you can enjoy your meal without feeling watched over. We look forward to returning to Abbey House in another 6 years!"

"Nice hotel. Great seating outside on the lake and in conservatory- would be better if more seating in conservatory. Pub/bar area itself is very dark and dingy. Seats outside the bar area were nice but not enough - some of the drinks were dear -£16 for a large wine! Food in brasserie was nice and staff nice too. Parking free at the hotel and very close to the lake boats snd train. Lovely place near the lake and would stay there again if in area."

"We stayed in a chalet which was beautiful with a private hot tub not over looked. Very clean, very helpful staff . Beautiful hotel. Lovely breakfast."
Macdonald Old England Hotel & Spa

"Great location and so convenient for local restaurants and shops. Parking offside took a minute or two and was really easy. Our room was very large and perfect for my disabled Mum. Breakfast and food in the bar was excellent. It was lovely to sit and relax with such a stunning view. Chantelle made sure our room was always clean and lovely to return to. All the staff were so sweet and nothing was too much trouble. Overall great value, fabulous location, gorgeous views and walkability."
