"Lovely, cosy, quirky little place in a very quiet part of town. It has everything I needed for my stay. Only stayed 1 night for work purposes but wanted to stay longer. Rod was very welcoming and throughly nice chap."
"Everything was very clean and lovely and the bed was very comfortable did have a good nights sleep.,plus good choice of food but they didn't serve breakfast..no worries there's a couple of very good café that do."
"We like this hotel, staffs were very friendly and good hospitality. Good free parking there, feeling safe and we can get bus to Brighton town just opposite from this hotel bus stop. "
"Property was clean and relatively easy to locate. Instructions on how to enter the building were sent the same day as arrival at 14:30 so a bit late and the WiFi did not work at all anywhere except the ground floor(my room was on the second floor). Other than this it was a pleasant stay."
"A very good location for staying in Brighton for a short visit. Has got everything that you need for a night or two. Longer stay with more time spent in the room than the sleeping and getting ready time would be an individual decision of whiat requirements are of importance or not for your own convenience. "
"We get there when we’re told check in can start. I was given no email correspondence of how to check in the door needed a code to enter which I hadn’t received prior to checking in, then when I managed to gain access through another guest I waited in the corridor trying to call but they kept hanging up when answering. I didn’t know what room I was or the code to the key lock to gain access to the room, no wifi password prior to arrival, and when someone did turn up and I got in the shower...
"Lovely property that has been tastefully renovated over the past years. The gardens are beautiful and a lovely place to be on a sunny day. The hotel is small which gives it a very comfortable feel.
Service is a little haphazard. Lot of young staff that don’t have the experience to deliver the service you would associated with such a lovely traditional hotel. "
"The property needs improvement:
Toilet seat loose ,broken !
Shower head has been mended with some plastic material to avoid leaking (did not work)
TV not working ,pillows we’re disgusting very dirty ,communication not so great .
We were told that check in started at 4pm but when we got there at 04:30 pm the flat was still occupied, not good enough we’ve travelled all the way from London .
Floor carpets very uneven and dirty looking !
Not staying there ever again and will not recommend to...

"Lovely room. Sparkling white bedding and towels. Clean. Friendly and helpful host. Super food. Will definitely recommend and would have no hesitation booking again if travelling in the area. "
"Fabulously comfortable stay :) The room was spacious, comfortable and clean and the staff were very accommodating. I had really nice breakfast and then came back for the Sunday roast, both lovely :)"
"This is our go-to lodging when attending the opera at Glyndebourne. A wonderful, country house in Uckfield, set on beautiful, expansive private grounds. Comfortably and exquisitely furnished, it is always a pleasure to arrive and occupy the spacious common rooms and assigned bedrooms. As frequently encountered in England, old properties may lack some modern amenities Americans are used to like air conditioning and convenient USB charging ports. Televisions are dated; rooms do not have clocks. But rooms are spacious and elegant, with large, tall windows, some of which do not open.
Our visit in July encountered unusual hot weather the first days of our stay. Our Nevill suite on the first floor (second floor in American parlance), with west-facing windows, reached almost 90 degrees F (32 C), making things unbearable. We located a fan, but it offered minimal respite.
The Horsted Restaurant serves in two stylish rooms inside and on a terrace outside; tea is served there, in common rooms and on the terrace. The tiny eponymous bar may have been a former pantry. Or closet. Food is quite good, but service seems understaffed at times. Another shortcoming, servers deliver your food and fail ever to check back for comments or additional requests. Some training may be in order.
Staff are extraordinarily friendly and helpful. Some staff members’ families have been associated with the property for many years in various capacities.
In all, our latest stay was enjoyable and memorable.

"A pretty village pub in a lovely location. Spacious room ( we were given an upgrade), very comfortable bed. Excellent well cooked breakfast. But best of all the very welcoming friendly and efficient staff. They could not have been more charming and helpful "
