Hi Janine. Thank you for your feedback I’m sorry that you felt cold in the chalet. We have never actually had a complaint before about the chalet being cold. The downstairs heater is overrated for the size of the house and has ample power to keep the place toasty so I can only imagine that you may have had trouble with the heater remote control. This could have been our fault for not explaining how to use it properly on check in in which case I apologize. The instructions on use are in the information book but this may have not been pointed out to you on check in either. If it's on the wrong setting it doesn't pump the heat out so much. There is a separate small heater in the changing room/bathroom under the counter. The bedrooms upstairs are also individually heated. Due to your complaint, come spring, I have decided to spray foam underneath the ground floor. This should stop the floor feeling cold to the touch. Check in and check out: We have a tight cleaning schedule which is why we have a 10:00 checkout - This is also stated in our booking conditions. This is so that we can clean the chalets in time for the 3pm check-in time. Staff are scheduled on and are being paid by the hour to clean. We can offer late checkout if there isn't a check in on the same day but not when there is. It looks like you arrived at 11:30am and were unable to check in as the chalet wasn't ready. We strive to check in customers early if their chalet is ready before 3pm but in this case we had a lot of check ins and checkouts on the same day. In this case guests can relax in the main lodge and we help out with the renting of gear. Location: Hakuba is a spread out place as I’m sure you noticed in your stay. The choice is usually whether to stay close to the slopes or close to the restaurants. The chalet you stayed in, is a short walk from restaurants and bars
