"Liked that hotel was a bit quirky. Room was nice overlooked the car park but with countryside views beyond. We had an evening meal in the Bareca restaurant which was very good especially the Dirty Burger, highly recommended"

"Small, but comfortable room with everything I needed. There were a couple of maintenance issues that I would not have expected. For example, when I wanted to watch TV the remote batteries were on their last legs and, after turning on the TV, it did nothing else. I could not change channels or volume or even turn it off. I had to cut the power. The toilet also ran rather noisily every so often. The breakfast was good, parking was easy and I enjoyed my overnight stay."

"A fantastic place to stay for a few nights. A great base to explore the Peak District with a good bus link to the area. Staff were all helpful and friendly. Food was much better than expected for pub food. Breakfast included was a perfect size and all local produce. We stayed for one night, got the bus into Castleton and back to see a concert in Devils Arse. We couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay and would thoroughly recommend"
