Warbrook House Heritage Hotel
8/10 Good
"I really enjoyed our one night stay at the Warbrook. We were travelling as a family of 5 plus a small dog - we therefore had a total of three rooms, 2 in the old house and one in the Grange which is about 200m away from the old house. All rooms were clean and appeared recently decorated / renovated. I was really impressed with the rooms. The bed was comfortable (a little soft to my personal taste) and the bathrooms were great with rain showers. Rooms had all the facilities one would expect - tea/coffee facilities, iron & board, hair dryer etc... The only negative I would say and this was only evident during a heatwave, was there were no airconditioning in the rooms. There were however, very capable tower fans which aided a good nights sleep - even though they were a little noisy. The staff on reception were very friendly and helpful (Sonya) and the staff at breakfast were also efficient and friendly. Breakfast was really good - the sausages and the scrambled eggs are worthy of special mention. The grounds and setting are really worth half an hour to explore. I recommend walking around the lake in the early morning - I saw plenty of dear and birdlife and it opens up a spectacular vista of the old house. when we arrived, there was a wedding taking place in a part of the grounds - that said, it didn't interfere with our stay at all and no noise could be heard from our rooms. I feel that a real effort is being made by this hotel and I applaud their efforts. I would stay again."

"All the staff right across the site were amazing, professional and polite. Breakfast was great (not the scrambled egg) Room was clean, only downfall was the finish of the ceiling with cutout patches, uneven and not painted. We were attending a wedding there, venue was great. A special callout to Jordan, Oscar and Mark who have a great sense of humour and helped make it that little bit more special. We would love to stay again when in the area."

"Our family room looked a little tired decor wise but was clean and everything worked. There was no air con however which resulted in not a very good night sleep in the heat of the summer"

Harbour Hotel Guildford

"Had a wonderful overnight stay at the hotel and made use of the spa, which although small was perfect for a hour to relax in amd wasn't crowded. The hotel is in a great location at the top of the high st so we were able to explore the town as well as use the hotel facilities. The bedroom was comfortable and large. The only negative was that the extractor fan wasn't working in the bathroom so it took ages to demise. Plenty of choice for breakfast but could have had more staff on to clear tables. All in all a great stay and would recommend Harbour Hotel"
