Pump Station by Bloom Stays in Dungeness - stunning location

"We had a lovely stay in Dungeness and it was a great opportunity to properly disconnect from London, particularly during the heat. The location is fantastic, with plenty of opportunities for long beach walks and great food, and having the Snack Shack right across the road was a real bonus. Our only minor gripe was that, despite requesting and arranging a high chair and travel cot in advance, neither was there when we arrived. When the first travel cot was delivered, it was unfortunately covered in what can only be described as bird poo! This was dealt with very well and promptly by the hosts, but it did make the start of the stay a little more stressful than it needed to be, especially with a baby. That aside, we had a really enjoyable stay and would happily return"

"Perfect house for family stay. Excellent layout and facilities - all bedrooms with en-suite. Outside kitchen great for BBQ’s and hot tub enjoyed by all. Direct access to dunes and beach made it easy to have fun with the family by the sea. Would thoroughly recommend."

"Booked for remote beach walks with dogs. Location perfect, right on sea front, great views of lighthouse, sea and sunset. Property we felt less let down by the bathroom which was so unappealing and uninviting. Garden unenclosed, several broken pieces of glass amongest the stones. Would be nice to have a welcome pack or even just a cake to arrive to, all other properties we have stayed in offer this. We had no starter fire wood as stated we would, when contacting told to call another … Feel this should have been provided and sorted by booking provider. Bedding required more of an intense wash, base bedding marked and stained. All in all, for purpose of booking location was excellent, began to get busy towards weekend lots of people peering in as such unusual place. Paying for location and views, yet pricey. Needs a few maintenance fixes, oven door handle broken, storage hinges on boxes broken, on of main doors faulty lock.garden fencing (not safe for dogs ) glass removal from stones, supply offered wood, cleaner bedding. Enjoyed the Bose system whilst watching the waves, location super."

"For a lovely house that overlooks the sea you would expect comfortable garden furniture to enjoy the views. Would have been nice to have extra crockery not just 6 of everything. Surprised beds did not have mattress protectors as mattresses were stained, particularly the front bedroom. Coffee machine leaked and two parts of the toaster did not work. Not all light switches worked either. Upstairs bathroom needed work where paint flaking. We use Boutique Retreats a lot and the house lacked their quality control. That being said we had a really lovely stay in a beautiful house. Would definitely stay again - thank you."

"UNIQUE AREA BUILDING.VERY WINDY WHEN I AS THERE WHICH HIGH LIGHTED SOME WINDOW FRAMES GETTING PAST THEIR BEST,ALSO,BEING VERY WARM & SUNNY,SOME BLINDS OR CURTAINS ON THE VERY LARGE (BUT ALSO VERY WELCOME) GROUND FLOOR KITCHEN/DINING AREA SECOND FLOOR SITTING ROOM WOULD HAVE CUT DOWN ON HEAT BUILD UP BEING BLINDED BY THE SUN (RARE SITUATION IN THIS COUNTRY ADMITTEDLY) BUT WHAT A LOVELY ROOM VIEWS!! (I FOUND OPENING THE DOOR ONTO THE FIRST BALCONY HELPED THE HEAT BUILD UP.) LOTS OF CUPBOARD DRAWER SPACE IN KITCHEN WHERE SOME PEOPLE MIGHT IT DIFFICULT TO REMEMBER WHERE THE VERY GOOD SELECTION OF KITCHEN WARE IS PLACED IF NOT STAYING THERE FOR LONG.A BLIND ON THE TOILET WINDOW WOULD ALSO BE A GOOD IDEA.TOILET/BATH LOCATION MAY NOT SUIT EVERY BODY. I WOULD RECOMMEND READING THE BOOK "DUNGENESS COASTAL ARCHITECTURE" WHICH TELLS THE STORY OF HOW THIS (TO ME) SPECIAL ACCOMMODATION CAME ABOUT. NO TV BUT HAD AN iMAC WHICH WASN'T MUCH USE FOR ME AS I COULDN'T EVEN FIND A WAY TO SWITCH IT ON! (PROBABLY AN AGE THING).I WANTED SOMEWHERE TO SPEND A "SIGNIFICANT" BIRTHDAY & THE COASTGUARD WATCH TOWER DIDN'T DISAPPOINT - I COULD VERY EASILY HAVE SPENT AN EXTRA NIGHT THERE,THE ONLY PROBLEM FOR ME WAS THE (AGAIN FOR ME) COST OF THE ACCOMMODATION BUT HAVING SAID THAT,FOR THIS SPECIAL OCCASION (& THE SEA VIEWS WHICH ARE TO DIE FOR) I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED.THE BRITTANIA INN ROMNEY,HYTHE & DYMCHURCH RAILWAY STN ARE BOTH VERY CLOSE BY. THANKS!!"
