Carvery bit disappointed the Turkey was lovely but veggies needed replenishing and were cold also no gravy. Perhaps we should have waited for it to be refreshed. Will know next time. "Beautiful location in gorgeous grounds with fabulous views of Rutland Water. We had a junior "suite" (actually one room, not separate bedroom and living area) with balcony. It was clean, comfortable and spacious although could do with more lighting (the room was dark despite glorious sunny May weather). The lift wasn't working throughout our stay which didn't bother us but would be problematic for anyone with disabilities or mobility problems. We hated the way you have to step into a pitch black lobby to access the bedroom and the light on a sensor doesn't come on until you are half way across the lobby (take a torch). Same when leaving your bedroom to exit the hotel. Breakfast was very average, we felt, all self-service and feels mass produced, coffee machines producing indifferent "coffee" but no decaf option. We would stay again for the location, but for the price (around £350 per night) we felt there could be improvements"

"Breakfast was good and the room comfortable. We were however in an upstairs annex and the room was incredibly noisy overnight (boiler?). Didn't get much sleep"

"Mattresses on beds poor in room 225 had to change rooms around 01:00 Sunday morning as noisy room next door to our original room 131 so on the whole not a great experience for ourselves unfortunately."

"The Talbot Hotel is a very quaint hotel. It’s location in Oundle is ideal and central. The courtyard is a great place to soak up the sun with a cold beverage. Dorotha and Aaron were a pleasure to deal with, as were all staff. Enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this location."

"The breakfast was good , however I prefer my tea to be brought to me in the pot , not just a cup of tea . It’s also quite warm in that room maybe some air con would be a good idea. Bar area is great staff very efficient and friendly atmosphere, although the toilets ( with the coded door ) were quite tricky especially if you’re disabled .drinks prices very reasonable for a hotel ."
