"This place is a right gem, excellent customer service from every person I spoke to including receptionists, bar/service staff and the man at the pool. The reception and restaurant is beautifully theamed as a big log cabin, I would have sat in there all night. Plently of outdoor seating too by the lake. We stayed in a little lodge in the woodland area. It was cosy and comfortable with a view of just tress outside (which I enjoyed). We enjoyed the use of pool and hot tubs in the morning included...

"Excellent location. Only issue was lack of food available on the second evening due to staff shortages. ( not really what you want to hear when you are hungry). The bathroom was lovely, however it was a little high to climb into the shower, bath and someone who was suffering with a bad a leg found it hard going, also getting out of the bath/shower there was no hand rail to support. "

A lovely anniversary break
"We arrived at the hotel early, did all the booking in, left our bags with reception, and went into York. On returning we collected our keys and our bags were taken up to our room. I had previously ordered, as a surprise for my husband due to it being our 30th anniversary, a box of chocolates and a fruit platter, both of which were waiting for us. The junior suite was lovely and airy, looking out towards the garden and Minster, there was also a box containing biscuits and various packets of teas/coffees, and cans of water in tbe fridge. We had also booked evening meals, and these were very enjoyable and tasty, the burger for my husband and the fish for myself, followed by salted caramel ice creams. Throughout our stay the staff were lovely, very helpful and considerate and always available. When we booked out we left our bags with them until time for our train. Thank-you to all the staff for a relaxing time. "
