We had an excellent experience at Hotel Royal. The desk help was especially friendly and helpful. We forgot an adapter, which they were happy to provide so we could keep our phones charged. The breakfast was amazing and we liked the lounge areas where we could sit and visit in the evening. It is a charming, very professionally run hotel!

Lovely Hotel
Hotel Royal was a lovely hotel with really sweet and comfortable rooms and a nice buffet breakfast and very helpful staff . For the price, it is an incredible value.

This is a beautiful old property that is in a great location. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast. The staff is so friendly and helpful, and truly seem to enjoy working at this hotel. I would have a difficult time recommending it more highly.

Staff was very friendly and historic property was a real treat. Breakfast room was too small or understaffed and there's no good place to park and unload luggage but overall an excellent propertu and would definitely stay again.

The Hotel Royal offers a charming experience in elegance. Our room was clean and quiet and the bathroom modern. The breakfast was amazing! There were many choices all fresh and organic was offered. Would definitely stay again.

Our stay at the Hotel Royal helped to make our stay in Gothenburg more enjoyable. We initially booked for just one night, but ended up extending for three more. The staff were friendly and helpful, and showed some extra understanding when we arrived later than expected. The hotel dates back to the 1850s, but it has been loving maintained and feels historic but not worn. We looked forward to the daily breakfast with a great selection of fresh and good quality items and small touches like afternoon cake in the lobby that made us feel welcome. The location is excellent; near the Central Station and streetcar lines, beautiful gardens and the main canal that runs through the city center. It is walking distance to many restaurants and places of interest. Don’t hesitate to book here if you can find availability. You will feel like you are really in Sweden and not in an international hotel chain that you might find anywhere.

Excellent historical hotel in the heart of Gothenburg. Well maintained, clean and conveniently located near Central station and walkable historical, shopping and entertainment streets. Very polite and helpful staff. Delicious breakfast with variety of choices. If you want to stay in Gothenburg in stile - Hotel Royal is your choice.

We loved our stay at Hotel Royal! The staff were incredible and the breakfast was to die for. We loved the convenience of being able to request a bagged breakfast for day trips outside of the area. We felt known and taken care of.

The oldest hotel in the area that has kept the charm while still updating to ensure modern day conveniences. The comfort was felt from the pillows to the staff. Definitely would go back if in the area again! Hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to the center with all the shops and restaurants to please all. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Great and historic hotel in Gothenburg. Building is beautiful both outside and in. I was there a little bit before Christmas and was very beautifully decorated. The room was spotless, with an nice decoration that made it very cozy.The heated bathroom floor made it excellent! I really wanted to get back to the hotel to relax in the room. Staff was very friendly and very helfpul. Anything I asked was patiently answered and was provided with suggestions to go about the city. Last but not least, the incredible breakfast! A very rich buffet (that includes waffles!) that even had extra options that were only served during Christams period as a traditional swedish dish. If I'm ever back in Gothenburg, I'm definitely staying there again!
