"Really friendly welcome, bedroom was clean, comfortable and easy to control to our preferred temperature. The bathroom window needed attention to close properly, but there was a heater to keep the room warm. We appreciated the table and chairs, and the communal sitting room with real fire. Great to have parking garage underneath. The concierge was very pleasant and we appreciated his care and attention (and his excellent red wine!) We are happy to recommend this hotel."

"Well located, very short walk to shops, restaurants etc. Good off street parking, although spaces are small and large vehicles may obstruct others access. Reception staff are friendly and obliging. Room was tidy with good amenities that suited our needs. Overall our stay was comfortable. The shower in bathroom could have been cleaner. It's an older property and I don't expect perfection in budget accommodation of this type, but the amount of mould between the tiles was disgusting. A disappointing aspect was that on arrival we reported that a heat lamp globe in the bathroom ceiling was out. Reception reported it to maintenance and followed up several times on our behalf but it was never fixed. At one point we were given an excuse that maintenance were busy and didn't have time to go to Bunnings and get a replacement. Eventually we gave up asking. I have removed a star from the rating due to the complete lack of concern about guest comfort by maintenance. A very unresponsive maintenance team is a major downfall if you stay here. I suspect this is due to cost cutting by the owners we were told that the same team services a number of properties."

"Always wanted to stay at the Hydro Majestic and it was amazing. The views were majesterial along with the setting and history. The main menu was pricey but we met an amazing lady called Sarah who ran the pavilion cafe, the best coffee and service in the blue mountains. We missed out on dinner reservations, that’s how popular it is! There was no judgment or issue getting take away from many of the amazing places in Katoomba, like Rustico, and having that in one of the many spaces within the complex. Overall great service, blanket was super human tucked and amazing location and piece of Australian history. Would definitely return for a stay"
