Top Gills Bay Ferry Port Hotel Reviews

Northern Sands Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"After a less satisfactory night in a much more expensive hotel, I suddenly had to book this one at the last minute because of travel chaos. What a great find. The room was ideal for doing some work (maybe a wee wifi extender would have made it even better and quicker), and it was great to be able to eat on-site - and that was good quality too. I'll certainly be making this my go-to in the far north when I'm in the area."

Cosy Highland retreat with countryside and sea views.

10/10 Excellent

"Had a wonderful week at Firthview Cottage. The Cottage was spotless and equipped with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The hosts were on hand if you required any help. There are great views from the Cottage across Stroma and the Orkney Isles .The cottage is perfectly situated to explore the northern coast of Scotland. We would highly recommend Firthview Cottage and will hopefully return again in the future."

The Hawthorns Bed & Breakfast

10/10 Excellent

"This was the very best Bed & Breakfast that we have ever stayed in, the owners not only went the extra mile to ensure you had everything you could possibly need, they exceeded it! Such a comfy bed, nice spacious room, delicious breakfast and at such a bargain price. Five stars all the way."

3 bedroom accommodation in John O’ Groats

10/10 Excellent

"The cottage was very clean and had all the equipment we needed. The mill was still undergoing renovation but didn't cause us any problems. The host was exceptionally welcoming and very knowledgeable about the mill and the area. It was great to know that the income from the cottages pays to keep the mill in good condition. The local hotel is dog friendly and does good food and dogs are allowed in the bar and restaurant. Stacks cafe and the brewery are also dog friendly. Tge cliff walks are beautiful and we really enjoyed visiting local beaches. Really hoping to get back next year."
