The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The service was outstanding. The onsen and private baths were clean and worth every dollar. Very basic comfort and service, crowded and noisey. We’ve found bedding quite uncomfortable. In addition, we had to set up futons for our children ourselves every night. There was no choice of water temperature in the bathroom and toilet. No soap to wash hands with in the toilet. No hand towels. Food was average quality and the restaurant was very crowded and noisey. We booked private onsen - it was quite dirty (windows, ceilings) and the setting wasn’t aesthetically pleasing (not one to enjoy and relax in). The best thing was the view from our lake view room overlooking the lake (and Fuji on the other side).

Dinner was great, they provided sushi and beef and different wine. The breakfast was boring. We lived on the 3rd floor, can only see trees, no lake view. Good to have massage chairs outside the hot spring area. The water machine was also outside the hot spring area, can’t drink water when you feel dehydrated after hot spring.
