Enjoyed our stay
We travelled to Fussen to visit the iconic castles which are truly impressive. What surprised us was the delightful experience of the city of Fussen and the surrounding area. There is a lot of history, good food, interesting shops in a compact area surrounded by beautiful scenery and a network of cycle and hiking paths to access it. The accommodation was within easy walking distance of city centre in a quiet residential area surrounded by great views from the spacious deck that is bathed in sunshine throughout the day. The apartment was very clean and fairly well equipped for a short stay. We would gladly stay there again.

Quite pricey but similar to other options in Füssen, further out of town so a good walk for transport and shops. Although a beautiful apartment there were 2 significant problems. The sofa bed is not fit to sleep on, it looks pretty but I doubt very much that neither the host nor any Expedia reps have ever slept on it! After one very uncomfortable night we had to put the mattress topper from the main bed on to it. Like sleeping on stone, this is a sofa that seperates, it is not a sofabed. Secondly, despite booking 2 adults and 2 children, and getting a receipt stating as much, the host demanded more money for the 'extra people' at €40 each. This place already has loads of extra 'taxes' which ypu have to roll you eyes and put up with. There's also an extra €24 of 'City Tax' when you arrive. The purpose for this extra €80 was laundry of bedding & towels, which is a fair reason, however, we used the launderette in town and it's only €5 per load, making use of the very poor sofa bed for our kids certainly did not cause €80 of laundry! And surely when we, the customer, make a booking for 4 people and get a receipt to say that's what we have paid for, we shouldn't be then presented with over €100s of extras demaded in cash from the host. Expedia need to sort this out!

Basic apartment outside Fussen center
Very clean efficiency apartment about 3/4 mile from town. Easy parking. A bit small for 4 people, but fine for quick stay while visiting castles ( can glimpse Neuschwanstein from the large balcony!). Wish we had more time in Fussen - cute town. 4 stars because of extra fees required for 2 kids. I probably just missed it in the listing, but wasn’t expecting this. Even with fees, was still a decent value given other options for a weekend stay.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Cute, clean and great place to stay. I walked to the Aldi twice and we walked to the train station and to the main part of town. My only complaint was that I couldn’t see information about the added cost of extra persons or that we would need to pay the tax upon arrival. I found out through correspondence after I booked it. I don’t know if it had to do with the language translations as she would send me screenshots but I wouldn’t see the same thing on my end. I booked through Expedia but didn’t see the information on there or VRBO. Otherwise, everything was great and I would recommend!

Kontakt mit Helena vor der Reise war toll - immer sofort geantwortet, hilfsbereit und nett. Wohnung ist klein, aber fein. Das sogar Kaffeepads, Tee und auch Früchte in der Wohnung waren, war äusserst sympatisch und zeigt die Herzlichkeit der Vermieterin.

Die Wohnung war super sauber, nett eingerichtet und die Entfernung zum Zentrum klasse. Blick vom Balkon auf das Nachbargebäude war nicht optimal, aber ok. Die Gastgeberin war super freundlich und schnell in der Kommunikation! Wir waren zufrieden!
