Misleading Plastic Hotel
We usually steer clear of 'resorts" because they are like a plastic banana with no character. No exceptions here. A large complex with a lot of units which I imagine Disney would feel like if we ever went there, which we won't. We were fooled by the hotels website which gives the impression that it is right on the beach, which is the only reason we selected it. Well it is sort of I guess. Its on a very small public beach which was gross with seaweed and sea slime. Not the hotels fault, but very disappointing to say the least. They also have a "private" beach which is nothing more than a couple of large sand box's with some palm trees. The water is about a five foot drop from the seawall. I know we aren't the only ones to be suckered into the "on the beach" con because I spoke with several restaraunt owners who knew exactly what I was talking about when I explained why we picked the place. Very deceiving Southernmost Resort. Although I know you aren't the only one, there are others that do the same. My fault for steering away from the boutique hotels we usually prefer and generally have a much better experience with. There are plenty in Key West and they are as close to any beach, a nice one, that this hotel is. Choose one of them. You will be happy you did and have more money in your pocket when you leave.
