This was by far the best hotel I have ever stayed at, as someone who travels solo often sometimes you are just looking for some peace and not having to do everything on your own. I am in awe of the property. If you are looking for privacy, story book views, and gardens this is the place to be. The staff is also incredibly kind and always looking to help in any way they can. A must stay, I will be back with family/friends next time.
We absolutely adored this hotel in every way. The views were not to be believed. It was only a 10 to 15 taxi to anywhere in Florence. Heavenly. My only suggestion is please add a shower curtain to the bath/ shower area so the water doesn’t spray all over the bathroom. Otherwise, this place will exceed anyone’s expectations and dreams! GRATZI!
A stunning location with fantastic views of Florence. Incredibly historic building with unique character.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
This isn't a chain hotel and has some quirks that are completely befitting the character of the property.
Highly recommended.
Truly magical place. Beautiful 12th century palazzo with sweeping views of Florence and lovely gardens. A path through olive orchards and vineyards leads to Porta Romano, right above the Boboli Gardens. It's a great neighborhood, full of restaurants and cafes, far removed from tourist crowds in the center of the city.
Service is gracious, understated.
About half dozen of the most friendly cats in the world live there - and will likely greet you soon after arrival.
One of our most memorable hotel stays ever. Further away from major sights in Florence but still walkable, and best views of Florence anywhere, including from our windows, almost feels as if you could reach out with your hand and touch the Duomo. Most under-rated hotel in Florence, only a few guests there during our trip during low season in January, but this made it feel like our own private villa. 700 year old building, creaky furniture and floors adds to its charm. Make sure to take the cooking class!
This property was the most unique and historic that I have ever experienced. It is set atop the hills over looking Florence, with other castles seen in the distance. It was beautiful and picturesque from every angle. The house has a significant ~600yr old history amongst well known families in Florence, with the current owner living in a house on the property. An optional cooking class was offered at their home, and we unfortunately did not have the time to take part in this. The grounds are beautifully manicured with many things to see including chickens, vegetable gardens, and fragrant rose gardens. The room was clean, bed comfortable, bathroom beautifully decorated with classic tiles. The staff was welcoming and friendly. I felt like a guest in a castle. I only wish we had more time there, but will definitely visit again on another trip.
The grounds are very pretty, very Tuscany, beautiful view but the rooms are very bad. The staffs are very nice, very helpful but the hotel itself is very dated. Everything is not well maintained. The futon are so worn out that you can feel the metal bars. We left the hotel with very bad back pain. The hotel is very cheap with their towels and toilet paper and never replenish their toiletry supplies. We are a family of four but are only given 3 bath towels. The breakfast doesn’t get replenish when item runs out so make sure you’re the early risers. Overall definitely not worth the high price tags for the rooms.

Definitely not a 4 star hotel anymore
This is definitely not a 4 star hotel.
The good: located in quiet neighborhood with amazing views of Florence. Beautiful gardens.
The bad: our first room didn’t hit have hot water or a real shower, just a bath tub and wand. We were moved to a new room (which also didn’t have hot water until we complained again) but the toilet barely functioned in this room. Rooms and hotel generally need to be remodeled. The couch in our room was old and stained. The pool isn’t heated, so despite being 80F outside the water was too cold to really enjoy (late September).
What made our stay even worse is that when we called Hotels.com they told us that since hot water and a functioning toilet aren’t listed amenities, they would not help us find a new hotel.
Disappointing hotel experience l, TERRIBLE Hotels.com experience.
This accommodation is an experience! It is a lovely setting overlooking Florence; and offers a pool that was well maintained. The rooms are spacious and appointed with mostly antiques. My family of z Ohio 8

The view at this hotel is spectacular. However, the service left a lot to be desired and a number of things in the room did not work. It is a pity because this hotel has a lot of potential

The view and building is amazing and stunning but in quite bad condition, and the staff are friendly but the level of service isn’t great
A truly wonderful stay! Location is peaceful with incredible views overlooking Firenze, lush gardens to stroll through, and awe-inspiring historical ambience throughout the property - this place feels untouched by time in the best of ways. The pool wasn’t open yet as the season had just begun, but I did catch a glimpse of it and it looked very inviting. Breakfast was quite nice, plenty to choose from and all items very fresh and flavorful. My only suggestion would be that it would have been nice to have some comfortable outdoor seating in the garden areas; it would have been lovely to have been able to sit/lounge outside with a book (and the friendly resident cats). Hoping to return next spring, thanks for a delightful visit!
There is nowhere like Torre di Bellosguardo. It is an incredible experience - of faded grandeur and a lost time. It is very quiet and there is a sense of being disconnected from the contemporary world. The villa and its extraordinary grounds are a work of art, each stairwell opens up to another view, another surprise. Many of the rooms are frescoed. Each gorgeous bedroom is uniquely styled with antique furnishings. The rooms are massive with incredible views over Florence. The bathrooms are beautiful but you have to commit to the fact that nothing quite works to modern standards & part of the sense of relaxation is being taken away from the modern world. The swimming pool set in a beautiful garden has the best views over the city. Its probably my favourite place to stay in the world but I should say that it won't be for everyone - but if you are looking for visual pleasure, a slow pace & the luxury of peace this is for you.
Property was in a beautiful setting and rooms very spacious. We opened our windows to enjoy the view and get fresh air. The bathrooms were quite small though.
The Torre di Bellosguardo is one of the most deliciously aesthetic sites and spaces anywhere in the Western world. The view over Florence is transporting, the grounds are pleasing for walks and trysts, the rooms with frescoes, some from the fifteenth century, are impressive.
A tranquil spot, immersed in gorgeous lush gardens, with a breathtaking view, for those craving a short and relaxing getaway. It has oodles of character, it is atmospheric, it draws you in. You are surrounded by centuries. A unique experience.
Stefan at the reception desk, and Gabrielle at the bar, deserve a special mention. Impeccable client care skills and friendly manner. Thank you.
