Bring your boat or water craft and enjoy one of the finest lakes for fishing and play along the Florence Oregon Coast. Fish right off the dock for Largemouth Bass, Perch and Rainbow Trout. The kitchen has everything you’ll need to prepare your meals, including a dual temperature wine fridge. The main living area features an open floor plan combining the living room, kitchen, and dining room, allowing for perfect casual family living and easy entertaining at the dining table and breakfast bar. The spectacular panoramic view from the lakeside wall to wall windows on both floors creates a perfect backdrop for any event. Mercer Lake: Lake access - The resort across the road is for resort guests however if you rent a pontoon boat for 150.00 you get all day access to the resort amenities including a swimming area, beach front, water trampoline.. They also have other water toy rental options. If you bring your own boat ther is a public boat lauch just before the the resort, Take Mercer lake road just a couple hundred feet to Bayberry Ln., turn left then imediatly right onto Archer Ln., ramp is streight ahead. Mercer is a good sized lake listed at 341acres on the north side of Florence. Great largemouth bass fishing, yellow perch, bullhead catfish, seasonally stocked rainbow trout and some sunfish as well.. With a boat, you can poke around the long Dowell and Dahlin arms and many small coves and points around the lake. There are standing and fallen trees around the shoreline, as well as a fair number of docks, that add to the potential cover for bass and panfish. What’s nearby: This home is a quick drive from multiple access points to the Oregon Dunes and ocean beaches including the popular access just out South Jetty Road. The charming Old Town section of the city is filled with lovely shops, cafes, galleries, and restaurants. You will also be minutes from numerous trailheads for hiking or mountain biking. The coastal forests flourishing in Douglas fir and Sitka spruce extend nearly to the Ocean. Some trails wind up, over, and through sand dunes, offering hikers the opportunity to experience the unique natural wonders of this area. Take a scenic drive up Hwy 101 to Heceta Head Lighthouse where free tours are offered daily. Get your adrenalin flowing on a nearby dune buggy tour or with an ATV rental, or go crabbing from the Siuslaw Bay public fishing pier at the end of South Jetty road where crabbing is excellent from late spring until the fresh water from winter rains force the crabs out to the ocean. This home is a 10!,! We were ALL impressed with this home, from the views to the beds! The family loved the Kayaks, and even watching the rain from several viewpoints! The only suggestion is for those unfamiliar with the area, (we had one of those) planned on the 19 minute walk to Old Town that took almost 3 hours, and there was no need for bathing suits since there was no stated hot tub. We even ventured out in the kayaks one not so cold morning even though it was November. Emily was great to work with and when we requested extra towels they were there in a jiffy and plenty of them. My only suggestion would be to add a few cozy throw blankets in the living room to cuddle up with and a few extra blankets in the closest for the beds for those of us who like to sleep in a cooler room. ##### JoJo W. We brought our canoe and also found the provided kayaks to be a great hit with the 8 yr old twins and adults alike. The boys spent quiet hours fishing off the dock and caught three different species of fish! We all enjoyed the retro video games, board games and book choices in the evening. And as soccer fans, being able to get the Timbers game one evening was a real hit as we all fit on the large curved couch on the upper level. We found it! Otter Banks is awesome. The house is beautiful the property and lake are so enjoyable to just watch the day go by. The accommodations were very nice. Plenty of room for family or alone time. The kitchen is well stocked as well as tons of games and books. Not to mention the kayaks. The property owners really thought of everything. I think I can safely say that our family loved it there and would love to go back again. We saw deer every day and we did see an otter cruising around one evening. The house is GORGEOUS!! It has the WOW factor the second you pull into the driveway. The lake access is amazing, the view from the living room is stunning. The entire place was crystal clean, the rooms spacious and cozy, the primary bathroom was a dream with a large soak tub, heated floors, and rain shower. There was eight of us aged 9 to 87, and a great time was had by all. We played a lot of the games provided and really enjoyed just hangin out watching football. We have traveled extensively around the nation and this was the nicest propertywe have rented. The photos do not do it justice, which is something we have frequently found to be the opposite. The house was completely stocked with everything needed. Thankfully they even had a turkey roaster pan. More towels than we could ever use along with plenty of extra pillows and blankets. We hope to come back in the summer to use the kayaks and enjoy more of the outdoors. This trip was to relax in the cozy house and gaze out to the gorgeous scenery. That being said, once inside, the home was everything as listed on the website. Clean, beautiful lake view and comfortably appointed. It was nice to discover there were lake towels on hand and an oblong outdoor dining table, for eating outside, under the garage deck. Also, extra deck chairs for lakeside seating. The kayaks, paddle board and peddle boat were all put to use. This was our first time at Otter Banks. And I'm certain, not our last. It was pure joy. ##### Anita W. We spent many hours on the lake kayaking and on the dock taking in the view and enjoying the fantastic weather together. The house is comfortable and so well laid out and furnished that it feels like home and not just a rental. The only problem that we had is when the front door lock quit working and we couldn't access the house through that door at the end of our trip and a key to the house was not in the alternate lock box. Hauling our things to our cars via the master bedroom door and the laundry room door was a real drag! Hopefully it was taken care of before the next renter arrived. We had the wonderful luck of experiencing the scene of a mother raccoon with her baby scaling a log just off of the shore while we were sunning on the dock. We love this place so much that we already have our vacation for next year booked and paid for! We even added another day! The only thing that would make this even better is if we were allowed to bring our Boston terrier. We're looking forward to spending time here next summer! ##### Melinda H. The lake and dock was wonderful even on a cool rainy weekend. The vibe is perfect for small craft and the garage is loaded with lots of opinions. Very nicely outfitted and large kitchen and dining room. A few things to consider, despite any website that suggests there is a hot tub, there is no hot tub. And the house is cold as heck when you arrive and take a very long time to warm up even with every heat source maxed. Don't forget a hike up Enchanted Valley! ##### Jeremy B.
