An extensive remodel and addition makes it perfect for large groups and retreats, with approximately 4800 square feet of space, 6 bedrooms and Craftsman built-in bunks in the Theater Room. It sits on one acre, with 180 feet of frontage right on the Pacific Ocean. You will not find better beach access - your own private concrete steps, right down to the sand! Watch your kids with ease from inside or on the patio; it only takes 20 seconds from the back door to exploring the tide pools and playing in the sand. Altogether, this home can sleep 12 very comfortably, and it has 6 full bathrooms. Here are the Bedroom details: \-There are 3 Oceanfront King Suites with private bathrooms \-There is 1 Oceanfront Queen room with a shared bathroom \-There is an Oceanview King room and shared bath \-There is another Queen room on the main level close to the Media and Theater Room with a shared bath \-The Bunk room is within the Theater Room, and it has 4 Twin beds with a shared bath Chefs will rejoice when they cook in this home! The large gourmet kitchen is truly inspired with beautiful light fixtures, quartz countertops, and hexagonal tiles as a backsplash. We strive to keep up on our cooking and baking inventory, so you can have everything you need to make memories and delicious cuisine. Here are the kitchen details: \-2 Sinks, each with disposals \-2 Dishwashers \-2 Ovens \-Microwave \-6 Burner Gas Range \-2 Fridges, one with an Ice Maker \-Walk-in Pantry, for extra storage \-Basic pantry items and spices \-Long Buffet area, perfect for serving many guests \-Tables and Kitchen Bar area One of the most unique aspects of our home is that there are many different areas for gathering. There is a library with pocket doors for a quiet escape, with 2 armchairs, leather couches, and a large coffee table. There is a long dining area, with large tables (able to be broken apart) for eating, playing games, doing puzzles, and more. There is a large family room with an electric fireplace, comfy leather couches and ottomans, armchairs, and many cozy throw blankets to curl up with. There is a bar with a sink located next to the family room for storing wine, mixing up cocktails, and placing pretty bottles on display. The theater room, with three rows of seating, is for watching movies, Netflix, or playing video games on the large HD Flatscreen TV. Altogether, there are 7 flatscreen TVs throughout our home. The oceanfront hot tub is also a nice place to gather, as well as the fire pit on the patio, surrounded with many Adirondack chairs. As a last note, there is a laundry room each equipped with a stackable washer and dryer. All towels and linens are provided, as well as paper products, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Twelve amazing women friends recently stayed for a long getaway weekend, and we loved it. The house offers enough variety of spaces so we could all gather together or find a bit of space away from the big group. Access to the beach is right there for the adventurers, but a wide view of the ocean was front and center for those who chose to stay in. For many of us, this was our second stay at The Rock, and we came back for a lot of the same reasons. As the reservation person, I appreciated communication with the host for payment and instructions. The home is set up with room to spare. It has a wonderful view and is close to the beach. We spent hours on the beach in the morning, visited light houses - explored tide pools - 4wheeled on sand dunes - or visited the local towns in the afternoon, and finished the day with a fire on the patio. This location was central to crabbing, hiking trails, and the New Port Aquarium. We used the theater for movie night, and the hot tub was wonderful to warm up in after playing in the water. Again The Rock has become a family favorite for us. Our three generation family (ages 5-63) stayed here for a third time, and the vote is to return again! The tide pools at low tide, the beach (accessed by a flight of stairs), the hot tub, puzzles in the library, and the variety of spaces for quiet time in small groups in addition to large group time in the kitchen/dining/great room area helps everyone to relax and enjoy the time together. Totally worth the longer drive, with a never crowded sandy expanse. We incorporate a trip to the Oregon Coast Aquarium each time we visit (a 15 minute drive away). Our only concerns were that the 1) fan behind the stove didn't work. 2) There are no screens on our bedroom door (Low Tide) which we kept open at night.. And 3) the bed was so high that we borrowed the hot-tub step stool in order to get into the bed. We loved our special time there and hope to return next year! The property is marvelous. We had everything we needed, and the location is fabulous with a short stairway from the patio to a wonderful beach. Several of us are runners, and we could get five miles of beach running in easily by going south to Seal Rock and north a long way on flat, wide beach. The fire pit on the patio is excellent, the sea view bedrooms, both on ground level and loft level, are amazing, and the kitchen/dining room and table are perfect for family celebration. The kitchen lights and coffee nook electricity did not work, but there is so much light from the grand sea view windows that lights are not needed during the day. We could not locate any cooking vents, the lack of which caused the smoke alarm to activate once early in the morning. But aside from those small flaws, this is an absolutely perfect treat of a beach property, just a stone’s throw from Newport to the north and Waldport to the south. ##### Brian M. The seniors in our group opted not to go down to the beach, and even the young people found the steps challenging. The front of the house is quite close to the road, so traffic noise was a problem in two of the bedrooms. For a luxury rental, we were surprised to have a bedroom dresser with missing drawer pulls and most of the showers with neither a shelf or ledge to put soap and shampoo on; for a senior, picking up a bar of soap from the floor can be problematic. And, no grab bars in the showers were also a disappointment. The kitchen stools are uncomfortable metal, and some of the seating is very low to the ground. All in all, this house seems best suited for large groups of young people and certainly not for seniors or anyone with mobility issues. ##### Rob D. This was our second time staying at the Rock for a work retreat. We had 15 women but not everyone stayed all three nights. The kitchen is gorgeous. We love that the table seated all of us. The location is great. Close to Newport and literally ON the beach. Beds were comfy. Bathrooms were all well appointed. We enjoyed watching a movie one night in the media room. And the fire pit and hot tub outside were a great treat. We had two issues but the property management company was quickly responsive. First, upon arrival, one coworker took a bath in the upstairs south bathroom which caused a leak in the downstairs laundry room. As soon as figured out the issue, we just didn’t use that tub any longer. Secondly, we planned rooms and beds carefully because of strong personal preferences about sharing rooms and/or beds. Unfortunately, the listing was out of date. We were expecting a set of bunk beds in a small room next to a bedroom on the first floor. Much to our surprise the bunkbed had been removed so ultimately we were short two twin beds. The property management brought us extra bedding the next day and we made it work on couches. Not the greatest situation but we managed. Also, the number of laundry rooms isn’t accurate in the listing. We expected two laundry rooms each with a washer & dryer. However, the laundry located next to the front door was locked. Not a huge deal just wasn’t what we expected. Despite the few issues, we love the Rock and plan to stay there again! ##### Kristen H. We give it a 10 out of 10! It seems the hosts thought of everything…a wonderfully stocked kitchen, really comfortable beds, a well-stocked laundry room, lots of space for families, large dining table, an amazing, private home with great beach access. This is the second time our family and friends have enjoyed our stay at 'The Rock' at Seal Rock. It is a beautiful home that is big enough for a large group, but still cozy and inviting.
