"This was my second stay at this hotel. I came back because I really liked it the first time, although it has changed hands since then. On arrival, our rooms were ready. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our baggage was safely left in the luggage room on the day of our departure, which made it so much easier on our last day. It was even brought to our table when we decided on a last-minute drink in the bar before heading to the station. If I had any gripe at all, it was in-room information. But this seems to be the same in most hotels these days. I miss having a menu, opening times, local sights etc in a booklet or folder. So convenient for the train station. Be aware that there is a door right next to the station. The first time I went, I walked all the way around the building to the front entrance! Would definitely stay here again."

"This was our half way stop over whilst travelling from Scotland to Norfolk. Could not have been more convenient or comfortable. The breakfast was good quality and plenty of choice.."

"Me and my boyfriend stayed for 3 nights, first thing we noticed was the lighthorseman is a very good distance from town- out of the way and quiet but a very short walk (10~ minutes) either by road or alongside the canal, the latter of which made for a lovely start to each morning we were there. Not far from the train station either. Spacious and clean room, toilet and shower were pristine and the bathroom was well-ventilated. Lovely little brew station on the bed side table. Only possible complaint was the telly, which couldnt change channels so we were stuck watching love island and tennis, but that didnt have any effect in our enjoyment of the hotel room. They offer breakfast for a very reasonable price, as are the drinks at the bar. The food was great, we recommend the steak & ale pie and the chicken tikka masala. All in all, very happy, lovely pub to stay in. "

"Excellent location, just a short 10 minutes walk into town. Secure car park, although costs £17 per day. Good size room, although found the separate toilet a little strange that took some getting used to. Fabulous continental breakfast that can be ordered when booking your room."
