It's OK, if you only want an economical place to stay
Too strong cigarette smell in the room even though non smoking room

Our apology about smoke smell in our non smoking property. Housekeeper are warned to check an clean room accordingly inform front desk about smoked in room which is not allowed but certain customer does that. We use the odor cleaner and dehumidifier to remove the smell which was done after your response.

Overpriced and undergood
Something must have been happening in the area that weekend. Maybe it was just inflation, which we all know is running at an excessive rate right now, but this motel was the least expensive one I could find anywhere near Hillsville and the rate was more than $100 -- way too much for such a shabby room. It had what I needed, and it would have been OK if it was cheap, but that property needs extensive renovation.

The desk clerk couldn’t speak English very well and asked me for $3 extra in cash and I could not understand why he was asking for it. Bathroom floor was sticky. Room smelled bad.

Our apology for WiFi issue its been resolve now some times due to weather or on going Fiber optic construction in area it was delayed to shortage staff but now its been resolved. Our staff is been warned about housekeeping issues. Hope to see you in future with difference in our services.

Toilet clogged, front desk unclogged and left water all over floor which I had to use all but one towel to clean up. Unfriendly staff at check in. Dead roaches in bathroom. Three days later security deposit hasn't been refunded which I disputed with my credit card company. Pictures were taken.

Arrived on site and owner was not at the desk for over two hours. I called several times and. I one answered. Finally called Expedia to get a different hotel and they got in touch with him. Owner says he was at the hospital with his wife but the note he left did not explain this well [language barrier]. He should have had someone else manning the desk even if it was the maid. Just anybody to either check me in or explain the situation.

Sorry since last years majority business got into trouble since US govt giving away free money for unemployment. Hard to find any help the Front Desk rush to ER in hospital due emergency he is only working 24/7 in Front Desk & Housekeeping.. Hopefully next time when you come we don't have this kind of problem !

Terrible service at check in and difficult to communicate with the staff. Room was somewhat dirty and tub was not clean. Didn’t feel very safe and did not stay in this hotel even though we lost our money. Went down the road to the Hampton Inn.

Poor customer service. Tried asking for additional "cash" after already staying the first night of our trip. Stated we would be asked to leave if we did not pay the additional amount "cash" even though everything else was paid with card.

Motel was clean and beds comfortable. However, when I asked about breakfast I was told there was none, despite Expedia saying that breakfast was provided. I realize it’s probably a COVID thing, but that should have been stated. Other than that it’s pretty good.

Dirty, disgusting, no working air, no windows to open, nasty toilet, horrible service and a possible drug deal going on in the next room. And the guy at the desk was serving people and nobody was wearing a mask

The Econo Lodge was easy to access from I77 & the view was beautiful. We chose this motel because of the price, & it was close to an access point to the Blue Ridge Parkway. It also had several great reviews for cleanliness. It was very clean & the staff was very friendly. It was quiet. However, I had booked a non-smoking room & someone had been smoking in that room. I did not asked to be moved. Other reviews said they had a grab & go breakfast, but there was no breakfast when we were there.

you can do better
I wouldn't call it a dump; that's just a word. Everything worked & the bed was good. But its not that far to better places to stay. And for words to describe that "continental breakfast", "edible" & 'food" are not among them. Go a mile down the road to Lakeview restaurant; its just a diner but good food, good portions, good price.
