Hi Darlene, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. Our check in time is 3pm. On occasion, extenuating circumstances prevent us from doing so. We have been renovating our historical property. Our contractors have between 11am and 3pm to make any repairs. On occasion they may need a little more time. We regret that getting a key was so tedious. We are happy to address this with all of our staff so this does not happen again. Our evening manager also serves food, so that may have added to your confusion. Additionally, it is a customary hospitality industry practice to preauthorize all cards for 50 incidentals. This is an industry wide practice. The hold falls off within 3-5 days. We aren't charging you, we just want to be sure that your card is a valid card and that if for some reason we incur damage to a room, we have some recourse as business owners. It is not for in room purchases. We sincerely hope that this clears up some misunderstanding, and we apologize for insufficient communication and hope you will give us another chance!
