"Nice hotel but very basic and uninspiring decor, room was comfortable but plain and like a hospital room. The room was supposed to be premium but was really anything but. I was there for 2 days and the bottled water wasn't replaced when used although the biscuits were? Staff were very friendly and helpful however. Food was limited, not much choice, but the hotel is only a short walk to the town centre where there is a decent choice of restaurants.."

For anyone taking a single room, try for no 20. I had coffee with the balcony doors open and overlooking the canal. Just great..."

"The room wasnt very clean in bottom draw was a empty whiskey bottle and the windows had mould around them At evening we had our meal on the 1st course which was soup there was a bit of plastic found in it the staff couldnt apogise enough but didnt really make me enjoy rest of my tea leaving it "

"We first stayed in Nov 24. This time we stayed Apr 26. Previously we were in the Annex, but this time we were in the main building. The room was large and nicely decorated. I booked two rooms as our adult daughter came too. Both rooms were cold even though the heating was on, but its an old building, so probably difficult to heat. The included breakfast was OK but was timed this time around with half an hour slots. But we were OK with this. Plenty of onsite parking. We had a party of 15 for a family meal in the restaurant/bar. Good menu choices. We didn't experience this, but others in our group had no hot water (they were staying in the annex). Would probably stay again despite the cold rooms, but probably visit in the summer instead."
