The best areas to stay in El Paraíso are the beachfront promenade in Platja del Sol and the historic old town, known locally as Barri Vell.Platja del Sol is the heart of El Paraíso's coastal activity. It's a long, flat promenade stretching for several kilometres, lined with palm trees, ice cream parlours, and restaurants offering fresh seafood. The main stretch, Avinguda Marítima, is where you'll find direct access to the sandy beaches and many of the larger hotels with sea views. It's an excellent choice for families due to the easy beach access and numerous child-friendly activities available directly on the promenade, such as playgrounds and mini-golf.For couples seeking a more relaxed and culturally rich experience, the Barri Vell offers a wonderful alternative. This area is characterised by narrow, winding cobblestone streets, historic buildings, and quaint squares like Plaça Major. You'll discover artisan shops, independent galleries, and tapas bars tucked away in its alleys. It's a quieter part of town, superb for evening strolls and enjoying local life away from the bustle of the beach.

The best time to go to El Paraíso is during the shoulder seasons of May, early June, or September. These months offer warm, pleasant weather without the intense heat and larger crowds of the peak summer months (July and August). You'll find the Mediterranean Sea warm enough for swimming and water activities, and the days are long, allowing for extended exploration and relaxation. The temperatures typically range from 20-28°C (68-82°F), great for outdoor dining and enjoying the region's natural beauty. For couples seeking a romantic getaway, late May or early June is ideal. The vineyards are lush, and the coastal paths are less crowded, offering a more intimate experience. You can enjoy strolls along the beaches of Platja Gran or explore the historic quarter of El Paraíso at a leisurely pace, with plenty of opportunities for alfresco dining.Families travelling with younger children might prefer early September. The sea remains warm, and the summer holidaymakers have largely departed, leading to a more relaxed atmosphere. Many local attractions and family-friendly restaurants are still fully operational, but with shorter queues and more space to enjoy.
