First time Scotland visitor

Posted 28-Jul-2016
Pros: I liked the location of the hotel close to bus stops and easy to get around town.
Location: The is a perfect restaurant across the street from hotel the staff was really nice and the bus stop is a two minute walk.
The Mason hotel was close to the public bus and the staff was very polite. It is on a college campus and the hotel is a converted dorm but it was clean and the price was good.

Modern clean hotel

Posted 25-Jul-2016
We booked this hotel for 1 night originally. We have found it by searching for hotels close to the Edinburgh Roal Infirmary. There were mixed reviews from other guests so it was a bit of a 'gamble'. We couldn't be more delighted with our find. It doesn't have the glamour of some hotels but: the reception staff were more friendly and helpful than I've met before: our room was spacious, modern an well equipped ( sadly no fridge); the bathroom was immaculate and the bed was really comfortable. What more could anyone ask for?

Mooie ligging ten zuiden van de 'old town'

Posted 08-Jul-2016
Pros: Ligging, makkelijk parkeren, goed ontbijt
Masson House ligt met een aantal mooie gebouwen op een eigen terrein, dus goed privé parkeren. Via de 'pedestrian entrance' loop je binnen 20 minuten naar de 'old town'.

Good apart from sound proofing

Posted 07-Jul-2016
Pros: Staff, comfortable bed and good breakfast
All good in terms of welcome, cleanliness, breakfast and staff. Comfortable bed and adequate room facilities. The only slight issue, which can probably be overcome with ear plugs, is that you can hear everything in the adjacent room. My neighbour was not noisy in any way or form.....but I heard every cough and when he took a service call at 5.30am, I heard the whole conversation as if he was in my room. I know nothing can be done about this, it is the nature of the building.

Pros: Das Frühstück. Ausreichende Auswahl. Engl.

Great hotel for Edinburgh

Posted 16-Jun-2016
Pros: We liked the closeness to the bus stop and town center. The breakfast buffet was fabulous!
Location: The Masson House was close to the Royal Mile and a wonderful city park.
Security for the hotel was great and the room size was adequate. There was free parking close to the hotel. We had dinner in the hotel dining room and found it really good but the breakfast buffet was fabulous! We caught the city bus right across the street for a quick, inexpensive ride to the town center. We would stay here again and certainly recommend it to other travelers.

Modest room but great value

Posted 01-May-2016
Room was small, nothing special, but clean. Bed comfortable enough. Great service at desk and restaurant. Walls paper thin could hear snorers and phone calls from adjacent rooms. Breakfast was way beyond what was expected, really great! Overall great value and perfect for attending nearby conference.

Great location and delicious breakfast

Posted 06-Apr-2016 on Hotels
We stayed in this hotel for one night due to attending a wedding un Edinburgh. The receptionist was very helpful, she let us check in early so we could get changed and she also advised us on what bus to take to the centre. The location of this hotel was just perfect, as next day we walked to the old town which only took about 20 minutes. Free parking was great. The room was a little dated but very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing. Very good value for money.
