Our room had no air conditioning and was unpleasantly warm. The lift was often temperamental but usually worked eventually. The B & B was fairly comfortable and was not far from the city so suited our needs.

Pros: The quirky decor, friendly staff, Scottish breakfasts and coffee and shortbread lounge.
Cons: The hot water ran out on the last morning.
Location: Perfect for Sightseeing in Edinburgh all year round.
Used this hotel as a base for the Edinburgh festival . The location was ideal and easily accessible from the airport. Our room was perfect for 3 adults. We had a front room with an added surprise of a view of the Tattoo fireworks every evening.

Perfect location, gorgeous hotel and great price

Posted 31-Jul-2015
Pros: Really everything- the decor was fab and the price was great value.
Cons: The sofa bed in the family suite may have been a bit lumpy- I tried it for a second but the kids didn't mention it. I would put more towel rails in.
Location: Easy walk to Prince Street, the Castle, The Leith Walk, National Galleries and probably more we didn't get to see!
We are a family of four who came for three nights and it was a great time in large part because the B + B was just perfect. We had a family suite which was very generous in pace- lots of room for the kids to goof around, sweet view of the city and really comfy beds and well appointed bathroom. All the staff were so friendly and accommodating. I loved the casual feel to the hotel and all the public spaces- it meant the kids could roam freely and because there were lots of other families there, we weren't worried about anything being too precious. The breakfast was great - the staff there were very attentive and there were a lot of options, not to mention how pretty the breakfast room was. It really felt a lot fancier than the price tag would imply. The location was perfect for walking around Edinburgh but not too crowded or busy outside the hotel. Overall we LOVED it!

Great place

Posted 30-Jul-2015
Pros: Location, front desk and breakfast.
Cons: The elevator is tiny but with the age of the building I'm sure there isn't anything they can do about it.
Location: A decent restaurant at the Bonham Hotel is less than a block. Others about 2-3 blocks away. Castle and the Whisky Experience about 15-20 minute walk.
The B & B is within walking distance of the main tourist attractions in Edinburgh while also being in a quiet neighborhood. The front desk was very helpful in giving ideas and booking tours and taxis. The breakfast is quite good. Our room, with a petite queens, is a double bed. The room however had a great view of the Edinburgh Castle.

We were first time visitors to Edinburgh and wow a real find! Staff were friendly and informative. Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast selection was good and lovely fresh produce. Room was great - even had a view of the castle! Location was perfect - quiet yet close to all amenities. Would totally recommend this hotel to anyone :)

Dejligt hotel, et besøg værd

Posted 12-Jul-2015

Rooms with fantastic views. Not far from castle.

Posted 07-Jul-2015
Pros: Location, view, friendliness of staff.
Cons: Breakfast: more bacon, better coffee (twice, we had lots of coffe grounds in the cups)
Location: A short walk from castle, and royal mile. Too much to list everything in Edinburgh ...
Though we arrived late, we had a warm welcome from the receptionist. The room was spacious (we had a family room) an we had a great view from the 4th floor. The lift is very small, so with big luggage, or in our case two Border Collies, it gets camped. Breakfast was good but not above average.

B + B Edinburgh

Posted 06-Jul-2015
Pros: I liked the architecture of the building, the rooms, and the library where one could sit and relax.
Cons: The addition of USB ports in the rooms would be helpful, and windows that open a bit more.
The hotel was great for my family. We stayed there 5 nights in early June. The hotel is located in a lovely Edwardian house, in a quiet area, about 3/4 mile from Princes Street. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. The full English breakfast is very good. The only negative is the plumbing- the water temperature was hard to control. I would stay here again.

The room was badly laid out.

Furniture to large in room, no place for cases. Lift very small to get to room only 2 person lift. staff helpful & friendly. Good for a business person but not family.
