Fabulous 2 bedroom apartment, completely renovated, in the very best location beside Edinburgh Castle. Views onto Royal Mile. Every modern convenience. Designer fabrics, wallpapers, free wifi, internet tv, underfloor heating. Extremely comfortable. Quiet Bedrooms, Double glazing.

Situated in the historic Old Town of Edinburgh, this is the best place to stay in the city. The Old Town is a World Heritage site. Steeped in history, packed with museums, visitor attractions, specialty shops, restaurants and pubs. Edinburgh castle is 1 minute walk from your front door. This area of the city has a real buzz and is a joy to explore. This apartment is however in a peaceful location late at night with no nightclubs or noisy pubs. This a great place to stay anytime but a prime location during the Edinburgh Festival/Fringe or at New Year.

It was a fantastic location to stay for the Edinburgh festival. The check in process was easy. The apartment was clean and tidy. The living/kitchen area was great to relax at the end of the day. The only tricky bit is the spiral staircase which did not have a hand rail all the way to the top.

Short break in Edinburgh

Perfect location in Lawnmarket: close to all the sites! Walking distance from the station too. Good for two couples, with two beds and baths. Really needed some more cutlery and mugs…but that’s the only thing really!

Lovely comfortable apartment in brilliant location

Loved the apartment-it felt like home every time you entered from the amazing winding staircase. Check in process was easy,directions given spot on,communications with Paul immediate and friendly. The location was perfect as we stayed during the Festival and we were right on the Royal Mile,with everything and easy walk away.

Excellent with a little caution

Excellent location. Apartment as described. Clean, has all the amenities. Great for family or two couples. One caution: the stairs to the third floor could be challenging. Overall, our stay was very satisfying and has good value.

Perfect place for being centrally located. Easy access to eating,shopping,bus', and sites. Rooms were great. Everything needed was in apartment. If only there was 20 less steps to apartment!

Royal mile

Great location. Did not need a car, walked everywhere. Breakfast recommendation by host was wonderful. We were warned of the narrow curved stairway leading to the apartment which was a little difficult to maneuver with luggage but we managed. Would recommend.

Royal Mile Gem

We wanted to stay very close to the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle. This was the perfect location. Everything was within walking distance. A little exercise getting up the stairs to the third floor apartment, but the location made it worthwhile. The apartment had everything we needed to enjoy our stay in Edinburgh.

First Time In Edinburgh

Two couples on a tour of Scotland. We stayed the first three nights in Edinburgh before heading to the islands. Unit was located on the Royal Mile, very clean and very comfortable. Very much enjoyed out stay at the unit. The stairs to access the third floor unit were a bit challenging with luggage, but well worth it in the end. Great location. Close to everything. Would definitely stay there again.

Great Location

This flat is RIGHT next to the Castle, with windows overlooking the Royal Mile. We could hear bagpipes in the kitchen window, setting the tone. The flat is nicely decorated and appointed. Although we were 6, it would be more comfortable for 4 since we had to move the table in order to use the sofa bed. Check in was easy, everything was provided as needed. We recommend it.

Best central location

We had a great time at Old Town Edinburgh. The location is a stones throw from the Castle and a short walk from all the major sites. Paul, our host, was terrific to deal with and a wonderful communicator. The apartment was really comfortable and accessible. It's the third floor up a circular stone staircase, but we managed it easily. And the character oof the building and the place is everything you could ever want for. Beds were comfortable and the apartment functioned well for four of us. Highly recommend. Thanks Paul.

No place to park and the property manager never responded to my message.

The location of the property is perfect. The space was as described. We had a vehicle but no place to park and were left no directions on where we could park. I messaged the property manager/owner and he never responded.

Could not ask for a better location! Overlooking the Royal Mile

Our flat was so well appointed and clean. We had everything we could possibly need.We had some cooler weather and also a nice wool blanket to keep us warm. WE stayed with our daughters who just loved the history and we all loved that we were staying in a place that was the OLDEST in Edinburg. Yet, we still had all the modern conveniences. It IS important to note, that this flat is on the third floor and we had to haul our suitcases up three levels of a spiral cobblestone staircase. Fortunately we had the benefit of youth with us!!!

Wow!

What a location, right in the middle of it all. The stairs were challenging with luggage, but all part of the charm and wouldnt change them, except for the hand rail to continue up past the 1st floor. The apartment was larger then I expected, loved all the original stone throughout. The wifi stopped for a night, and Paul was onto it, had it fixed the next day, once we made him aware of it. Beds were super comfy too. A quality apartment overlooking the royal mile, I loved it.

Location, location, location

Unbeatable location for tourists. Literally right in the heart of everything. Stayed with 2 adults and 3 kids (6, 10, 12). Even during the tattoo and fringe, and despite being right in the center of it all, it was quiet and cozy. As others have mentioned, the stairs are steep and curvy to enter the apartment. We had backpacks and carry-one and it was fine but large suitcases would be a trick. The beds were comfortable (though I’m baffled at how they got furniture into this apartment!). Bathrooms and kitchen area, and washing machine with drying rack, were quite handy. Great for a family.

Absolutely Fabulous

Wow!! Fabulous location on the Royal Mile in a beautiful apartment. We could walk everywhere and then take in the views from the large windows overlooking the excitement. The unit is extremely comfortable, super clean, and stocked with everything you need for a fabulous stay. Paul provided very detailed directions so that it was easy to locate and settle in. We're a family of five with three older teenagers. All slept comfortably and because of the wonderful location, we could venture out together or separately (I loved a morning walk for coffee before the Royal Mile got busy.) and others could stay back for a bit when they needed a break. It was perfect. Thank you Paul!

Quaint

Well the taxi couldn't get to Lawnmarket so we had to drag our luggage from the lower end of James Court. Then we couldn't find the actual entrance from the back side. So frustration is setting in. Got a hold of the owner and he directed us to the correct wynd. Dragged our luggage up three flights of spiral staircase. Couldn't get the lock box open. Finally managed to get it open. So you probably think we didn't enjoy our stay? Wrong! Great place. Great location. A bit noisy but really convenient. I'd stay here again but with less luggage!

Perfect little space to call home on the Royal Mile

We had four ladies out on a tour of the UK from Colorado. This was our second city and this unit offered a very pleasant stay. We were able to do laundry, sleep peacefully and get most everything in a matter of minutes. This unit sits on the third floor of a building overlooking the western most stretch of the Royal Mile, immediately before it terminates at Edinburgh Castle. BE WARE OF THE STONE SPIRAL STAIRCASE. We had no problems navigating it, but if you stay here, you'll have some tight stairs to have to maneuver your luggage up and down. So plan accordingly! We had no trouble getting to or from the unit from Waverly train station by taxi. We also did not have any trouble with noise from below evenings or mornings. The unit felt very private with the heavy window shades. We did not cook in the unit, but there seemed to be the basics for small meals on hand. The owner, Paul, was away during our stay, but his brother, Chris, was incredibly responsive when we had a very minor glitch with the boiler. The unit was warm and comfortable, and easy to feel at home in.
