Traditional 'Agatha Christie' hotel.

Posted 18-Aug-2017
Pros: The old fashioned decor. Attentive and efficient staff. The spacious nature. The jigsaw!
Cons: Any rooms with brick wall views & only shower not bath could perhaps be taken out of service.
Location: Eastbourne seafront is great for strolls. The wish tower & lifeboat museum are worth a visit; so is the Towner Gallery
I booked two rooms for myself and my two daughters for a relaxing break. We enjoyed the outdoor pool. Our meals were all of high qualities served with courtesy. One of the rooms was very basic with only a brick wall view but they were both clean and comfortable. We had booked massages, which were superb and left us feeling really relaxed after our weekend.

Treated my parents to a stay at this hotel for their anniversary. Old-fashioned service and comfort, pleasing guest facilities and good food. Friendly and attentive staff.

Old fashioned comfort

Posted 07-Jun-2017
Wonderful sea views from this comfortable hotel, which retains the atmosphere and style of the first half of the the 1900's. Spacious public areas and rooms, and plenty of friendly staff to cater for the residents and the many different groups who use the hotel for parties/meetings/ gatherings. Very easy parking and short downhill walk into town.

Pros: The ambience and decor.
Cons: The changing facilities adjacent to the pool.
Location: Only stayed one night and arrived late so did not explore the immediate area. Lovely views though.
Very efficient check-in and helpful staff. A lovely position and easy to find.

Great value for money!

Great value for money Hotel. Breakfast choice excellent and all staff professional and ver helpful. Traditional hydro feel; big open spaces and although a bit dated, didn't take away our stay.

I often stay at the Hydro Hotel for business and it is always my first choice in Eastbourne. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the Hotel has old style grandeur and character. As a woman travelling on her own, it is important to me to feel safe and comfortable where I stay and the Hydro Hotel achieves this.
